Lux Vide has released the first soundtrack album for the limited series Leonardo. The album features the original music from the first episodes of the show composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Invincible, The Star). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Leonardo is created by Frank Spotnitz & Steve Thompson and stars Aidan Turner in the title role of Leonardo da Vinci, as well as Giancarlo Giannini, Freddie Highmore, Matilda De Angelis, Robin Renucci, Miriam Dalmazio,Kit Clarke, Antonio DeMatteo and James D’Arcy. The 8-part period drama explores the life and work of the famed Italian inventor, scientist and artist.

Premiering today is the the National Geographic event series Genius: Aretha created by Suzan-Lori Parks and starring Cynthia Erivo, Courtney B. Vance, Malcolm Barrett, Pauletta Washington, David Cross, Patrice Covington, Rebecca Naomi Jones and Steven Norfleet. The show’s original score is composed by Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Inside Man, Da 5 Bloods, Malcolm X). Raphael Saadiq (Lovecraft County, Insecure) serves as the project’s executive music producer and Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe have provided a new version of their Emmy Award-nominated main titles theme. Premiering on Wednesday, March 24 is the HBO Sports documentary The Day Sports Stood Still directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Brian Grazer & Justin Wilkes about the unprecedented sports shutdown in March of 2020 and the remarkable turn of events that followed. Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, Enough Said, The Affair, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd, The Loudest Voice) has composed the film’s original music. John Paesano Scoring Amazon’s ‘Invincible’
John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, The Star) has recently been scoring the upcoming Amazon original series Invincible. The show is created by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Outcast) based on the Skybound/Image comic by himself, Cory Walker & Ryan Ottley and features the voices of Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin and Max Burkholder. The adult animated superhero series revolves around 17-year-old teenager who’s just like every other guy his age – except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet.
Soundtrack Album for Showtime’s ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed and conducted by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, Tesla, The Star). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 30 and will be available to stream/download here. Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is created by John Logan and stars Natalie Dormer, Daniel Zovatto, Kerry Bishé, Brent Spiner, Amy Madigan, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear, Piper Perabo, Thomas Kretschmann, Adam Rodriguez, Lorenza Izzo, Dominic Sherwood, Ethan Peck, Michael Gladis and Nathan Lane. The Penny Dreadful spin-off isset in 1938 Los Angeles after a grisly murder shocks the city and follows a detective and his partner as they become embroiled in a story that reflects the rich history of LA.

Premiering tonight is the AMC original series The Walking Dead: World Beyond created by Scott M. The show’s original music is composed by The Newton Brothers (Doctor Sleep, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Detachment, Life of Crime, Oculus). The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this week is the political thriller Infidel written and directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh and starring Jim Caveziel, Claudia Karvan, Hal Ozsan, Stelio Savante and Aly Kassem. The album features the film’s original music composed by Natalie Holt (The Honourable Woman, Journey’s End, Knightfall, Press, Beecham House, Deadwater Fell). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which revolves around an American journalist/blogger who is kidnapped while attending a conference in the Middle East and is put on trial for trumped-up charges of espionage, is being released by Cloudburst Entertainment.
Already playing in around 400 theaters since this past Wednesday is the thriller The Secrets We Keep co-written and directed by Yuval Adler and starring Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Chris Messina and Amy Seimetz. Millennium Media Records has released a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Tesla. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, My All American, DreamWorks Dragons). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Tesla is written and directed by Michael Almereyda and stars Ethan Hawke, Eve Hewson, Hannah Gross and Kyle MacLachlan. The movie tells the story of brilliant, visionary Nikola Tesla as he fights an uphill battle to bring his revolutionary electrical system to fruition, then faces thornier challenges with his new system for worldwide wireless energy.

John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, The Star) has been tapped to score the upcoming Leonardo. The show is created by Frank Spotnitz (The Man in the High Castle, The X-Files) & Steve Thompson (Jericho) and stars Aidan Turner in the title role of Leonardo da Vinci, as well as Freddie Highmore as a fictional young detective named Stefano Giraldo, Giancarlo Giannini as Leonardo’s master Andrea del Verrocchio and Matilda De Angelis as Caterina da Cremona, his dearest friend and mysterious muse. The drama tells the story of the 15th/16th century Italian genius. Daniel Percival (The Man in the High Castle) and Alexis Sweet are directing the limited series.
