Opening in theaters nationwide is the disaster movie Moonfall co-written and directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Halle Berry, John Bradley, Patrick Wilson, Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu, Eme Ikwuakor, Carolina Bartczak and Donald Sutherland. The film’s original score is composed by Thomas Wander & Harald Kloser (The Day After Tomorrow, 2012, Midway, White House Down, Independence Day: Resurgence). Atlantic Screen Music/Filmtrax has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as the original song One More Time by Luka Kloser. Also opening wide is the comedy Jackass Forever directed by Jeff Tremaine and starring Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Danger Ehren, Dave England, Wee Man and Preston Lacy. Joseph Shirley (The Book of Boba Fett, The Mysterious Benedict Society, Bad Trip, Fairfax) has composed the score for the film’s opening sequence. Paramount Music has released a new version of the song If You’re Gonna Be Dumb, You Gotta Be Tough recorded for the movie by Yelawolf & DJ Paul. The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this week is the political thriller Infidel written and directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh and starring Jim Caveziel, Claudia Karvan, Hal Ozsan, Stelio Savante and Aly Kassem. The album features the film’s original music composed by Natalie Holt (The Honourable Woman, Journey’s End, Knightfall, Press, Beecham House, Deadwater Fell). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which revolves around an American journalist/blogger who is kidnapped while attending a conference in the Middle East and is put on trial for trumped-up charges of espionage, is being released by Cloudburst Entertainment.

Already playing in around 400 theaters since this past Wednesday is the thriller The Secrets We Keep co-written and directed by Yuval Adler and starring Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Chris Messina and Amy Seimetz. John Paesano (The Maze Runner, Daredevil, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, The Star, My All American, When the Game Stands Tall) has composed the film’s original music. Ola Flottum Scoring William Olsson’s ‘Lost Girls and Love Hotels’

Ola Flottum (Force Majeure, Thelma, Louder Than Bombs, Reprise) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Lost Girls and Love Hotels. The film is directed by William Olsson (An American Affair) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Carice van Houten, Misuzu Kanno, Kate Easton and Takehiro Hira. The movie revolves around an American English teacher and her nightly pilgrimages through Tokyo’s glittering nightlife in an attempt to forget her painful past and discover new meaning in the arms of a mysterious man. Catherine Hanrahan wrote the screenplay based on her own book.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the family comedy directed by Sean Anders and starring Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, John Lithgow, Mel Gibson, Linda Cardellini, Alessandra Ambrosio, John Cena, Scarlett Estevez and Owen Vaccaro. Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, Bad Teacher, Freaks & Geeks, Funny People, The Big Sick) who previously scored the 2005 original film has composed the movie’s original score. Also opening wide is the thriller Murder on the Orient Express directed by Kenneth Branagh who also stars in the movie alongside Penelope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Marwan Kenzari and Olivia Colman. The film’s original music is composed by Academy Award nominee Patrick Doyle (Sense and Sensibility, Cinderella, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Thor) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and an original song written by the composer (with lyrics by Branagh) and performed by Pfeiffer. ‘Thelma’ Soundtrack Details

The Orchard will release a soundtrack album for Joachim Trier’s supernatural thriller Thelma. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ola Flottum (Force Majeure) who previously scored the director’s previous features, Louder Than Bombs, Reprise and Oslo, August 31st . The soundtrack will be released on November 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Thelma is co-written and directed by Trier and stars Eili Harboe, Okay Kaya, Henrik Rafaelsen and Ellen Dorrit Petersen. The movie centers on Norwegian student who falls in love and discovers she has terrifying and inexplicable powers.

Two new movies are opening nationwide:

Opening in most theaters is the comedy The Boss directed by Ben Falcone and starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage and Kathy Bates. The film’s original music is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2). No soundtrack album has been announced. The Boss follows a titan of industry, who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading and later emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart. Also opening wide is action movie Hardcore Henry written and directed by Ilya Naishuller and starring Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennett, Andrey Dementyev, Dasha Charusha, Sveta Ustinova and Tim Roth. Dasha Charusha has composed the film’s original score. Sony Masterworks has released two soundtracks, including an album featuring the songs from the film artists including The Sonics, The Temptations, The Drums, The Stranglers and Devendra Barnhart. Ola Flottum is reteaming with director Joachim Trier on the upcoming drama Louder Than Bombs. The film marks the English language debut of the director and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Ryan, Isabelle Huppert, Gabriel Byrne, Devin McKenzie Druid and David Strathairn. The movie centers on the family of a late war photographer who has to grapple with their contrasting memories of her. Trier has also written the screenplay with Eskil Vogt (Blind). Thomas Robsahm is producing the project with Alexandre Mallet-Guy (The Past), Joshua Astrachan (Short Term 12, Friends With Kids), Marc Turtletaub (Little Miss Sunshine, Safety Not Guaranteed) and Albert Berger & Ron Yerxa (Cold Mountain, Nebraska, Little Children).
