Decca Records will release the official soundtrack album for LAIKA Studios’ animated feature Wildwood. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Kubo and the Two Strings, V for Vendetta, Darkest Hour, Anna Karenina, The Boxtrolls, Paddington in Peru, Bumblebee). Also included is the original song The Better Part of Bravery by The Decemberists. The soundtrack will be released on October 23. Check back on this page for the pre-order link. Wildwood is directed by Travis Knight and features the voices of Carey Mulligan, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Amandla Stenberg, Charlie Day, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tom Waits, Tantoo Cardinal and Richard E. Grant. The movie based on Colin Meloy’s & Carson Ellis’ novel of the same title tells the story of a young girl who journeys into a hidden forest to rescue her younger brother and encounters warring factions, extraordinary creatures, and a world unlike anything she’s ever known along the way. The animated fantasy epic will premiere next month at the BFI London Film Festival and be released in theaters nationwide on October 23 by Fathom Entertainment.
