Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the comedy sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2 directed by David Frankel and starring Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Kenneth Branagh, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley and B.J. Novak. The film’s original score is composed by Theodore Shapiro (Severance, Ghostbusters, The Housemaid, Tropic Thunder, Bombshell, Spy, A Simple Favor, Dodgeball). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music today and Interscope Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, including Lady Gaga’s & Doechii’s Runway, on the same day. Also opening wide is the supernatural horror movie Hokum written and directed by Damian McCarthy and starring Adam Scott, Peter Coonan, Florence Ordesh, David Wilmot, Will O’Connell and Michael Patri. Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, Malignant, The Curse of La Llorona, Annabelle, Dark Skies, Tarot, The Unholy) has composed the film’s original music. Void Recordings has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Theodore Shapiro has won his second Emmy Award for his score for the episode Cold Harbor from the second season of the Apple TV+ original series Severance in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series category at tonight’s first night of the 77th Creative Prime Emmy Awards. He previously won his first Emmy for his music from Season 1 back in 2022 and was also nominated for his main title theme. Mick Giacchino received his first Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special category for his score from the episode After Hours of the HBO series The Penguin. Cristobal Tapia de Veer has won his fourth Emmy Award for his theme for the third season of HBO”s The White Lotus in the Outstanding Main Title Theme Music category.
