Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the National Geographic original documentary event series Africa Earth’s Wild Home. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Grammy Award nominee Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, The Lost City, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie & The Dino Movie, Stargirl, Slumberland, Loney Planet, Shotgun Wedding, Family Switch). The show’s main theme is written by Toprak & Christian Kolo. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, October 2 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the first track below. Africa Earth’s Wild Home is narrated by Wunmi Mosaku and uses cutting-edge CGI to unearth the deep history and forces that shaped Africa’s natural worlds and the latest technology to tell the stories from the continent.

Premiering on Thursday, October 1, is the Netflix limited series East of Eden developed by Zoe Kazan based on John Steinbeck’s classic novel of the same name and starring Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, Ciarán Hinds, Joseph Zada and Joe Anders. Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, The Lost City, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie & The Dino Movie, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Stargirl, Shotgun Wedding, Slumberland, Loney Planet, Family Switch) has composed the original music for the new National Geographic original documentary event series Africa Earth’s Wild Home. The show is narrated by Wunmi Mosaku and uses the latest technology to tell the stories from the continent and cutting-edge CGI to unearth the deep history and forces that shaped Africa’s natural worlds. The 7-parter documents several species and behaviors for the first time, including the elusive black rain frog, filmed for TV for the first time, and hyenas in the Congo hunting elephants at night.
‘Lion’ Soundtrack Album Details
The details of the soundtrack album for the National Geographic original event nature documentary series Lion have been revealed. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Gladiator, Dune, Inception, Rain Man, Pirates of the Caribbean), Niccolò Pacella & George Hutson Warren and produced by Bleeding Fingers’ Russell Emanuel, with additional vocals from the Nairobi Chamber Chorus. Zimmer, Andrew Christie & Lebo M have written the series’ main theme. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 21 by Hollywood Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. National Geographic announced today that Hans Zimmer (Interstellar, Dune, Inception, The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rain Man, Man of Steel) has teamed up with Bleeding Fingers Music’s Niccolò Pacella & George Hutson Warren to score the new National Geographic original documentary series Lion. The Nairobi Chamber Chorus has provided additional vocals and Lebo M (The Lion King) & Andrew Christie (Prehistorical Planet, The Americas) have written the theme, alongside Zimmer, for the show, which is narrated by O.J. Lynch and chronicles the remarkable four-year journey of a tiny lion cub named Kio as he becomes a king. Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Elf) who has previously collaborated with Zimmer on 2019’s The Lion King remake is executive producing the project with BBC Studios Natural History Unit’s creative director Mike Gunton (Planet Earth II, Dynasties).
‘Time and Water’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Time and Water. The 3-part docudrama is hosted by Tom Hiddleston and follows the actor – guided by a team of archaeologists, historians, geologists and disaster experts – as he uncovers remarkable evidence – and the stories of real people that challenge long-held assumptions about Pompeii and its final hours – not least revealing that many of those caught up in the disaster had the chance to survive. Tom Barbor-Might (Becoming You) serves as the project’s showrunner and director.
