Premiering tonight is the new CBS drama Matlock developed by Jennie Snyder Urman inspired by the classic 80s/90s series of the same name and starring Kathy Bates, Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, Leah Lewis and David Del Rio. The show’s original music is composed by Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Wrestlers, Twisted Metal, Fright Krewe, Obliterated, Good Sam, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Florida Man). Also premiering tonight is the FOX drama Rescue: HI-Surf created by Matt Kester and starring Robbie Magasiva, Arielle Kebbel, Adam Demos, Zoe Cipres, Alex Aiono and Kekoa Kekumano. The show is created by Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story), Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, The Slap) & Joe Baken and stars Joshua Jackson, Phillipa Soo, Sean Teale and Don Johnson. The series follows a new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship and his small but mighty medical team as they navigate unique medical crises.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV series Moonflower Murders created by Anthony Horowitz and starring Lesley Manville, Timothy McMullan, Mark Gatiss, Daniel Mays, Rosalie Craig, Claire Rushbrook, Conleth Hill, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Matthew Beard, Adrian Rawlins and Sanjeev Kohli. The show’s original music is composed by Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Gentleman Jack, Torchwood, Dead Ringers, It’s a Sin, A Very English Scandal, Quiz) who previously scored 2022’s original Magpie Murders series. Premiering on Tuesday, September 17, is the ABC comedy High Potential created by Drew Goddard and starring Kaitlin Olson, Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Amirah J, Deniz Akdeniz, Matthew Lamb and Judy Reyes. Josh Kramon (Veronica Mars, iZombie, Forever, Party Down, October Road) and Jake Staley (Valor, 7 Below) are composing the show’s original score. The series, which follows single mom whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective, will air Tuesdays on ABC and will also be available to stream on Hulu.

Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s original limited series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. The album features the show’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Road to Perdition, The Shawshank Redemption, 1917, Skyfall, Finding Nemo) and Julia Newman (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, At the Gates, American Horror Stories). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 13 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. It has previously been revealed that the Academy Award-nominated composer’s daughter Julia Newman is scoring the show written by Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, Stonewall) based on the book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer and starring Tom Hollander (as Truman Capote), Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Treat Williams, Joe Mantello and Russell Tovey.

‘At the Gates’ Soundtrack Album Released

Julia Newman has released a soundtrack album for the dramatic thriller At the Gates. The album features the film’s original score written by the composer (and daughter of Academy Award nominee Thomas Newman) who has made her feature scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack is now available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music. At the Gates is written and directed by Augustus Meleo Bernstein and stars Miranda Otto, Noah Wyle, Ezekiel Pacheco, Vanessa Benavente and Sadie Stanley. The movie revolves around a Salvadoran housekeeper and her teenage son who begin to question whether they’re being protected or imprisoned after an affluent couple offers to hide them from immigration officers in their basement.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the romantic comedy What Happens Later directed by Meg Ryan and starring David Duchovny and Ryan.
