Jazz trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer Michael Leonhart is making his television scoring debut on the new NBC comedy Newlyweds. The show is created by Gail Lerner (Black-ish, Animal Practice) & Jamie Lee Curtis and stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Curtis herrself, Emma Meisel, Bill O’Neill, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Al Madrigal. The series tells a later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry impetuously after a whirlwind courtship.

Premiering tonight is the British HBO original series Youth created by Sharon Horgan and starring Horgan herself, Rupert Friend, Sharlene Whyte, Aran Murphy and Robbie Gee. The show’s original score is composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Ghosts, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Kominsky Method, Ransom Canyon, CSI :Miami, White House Plumbers, Heels, Just Friends). Also premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV series Trespasses developed by Ailbhe Keogan based on Louise Kennedy’s debut novel and starring Lola Petticrew, Tom Cullen, Gillian Anderson, Emily Taaffe, Martin McCann, Oisín Thompson and Barry Wad. David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Black Bag, Out of Sight, Killing Eve, Haywire, Logan Lucky, Analyze That) & Brian Irvine (The Apprentice, Ordinary Love) have composed the show’s original music. Dream Drama has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score this past July. Ariel Rechtshaid & Will Canzoneri Scoring NBC’s ‘Line of Fire’
Record producer/songwriter Ariel Rechtshaid has teamed up with Will Canzoneri (On a String) to score the new NBC drama Line of Fire. The show is created by Joshua Safran (Quantico, Endless Love) and stars Peter Krause, Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Taylor Bloom, Tommy O’Brien and Charlie Barnett. The series revolves around a family of law enforcement agents who bridge personal differences and cross professional boundaries as they tackle cases for the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice.
‘The Bionic Woman’ 50th Anniversary Soundtrack Collection Announced
Five Jays Music has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1970s cult sci-fi TV series The Bionic Woman created by Kenneth Johnson based on Martin Caidin’s novel Cyborg and starring Lindsay Wagner, Richard Anderson, Martin E. Brooks, Martha Scott, Ford Rainey and Jennifer Darling. The album features the main title and end credit themes composed by Jerry Fielding (The Wild Bunch, The Bad News Bears, Escape from Alcatraz, Scorpio, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia) , as well as the composer’s previously unreleased scores for the Season 1 episodes Welcome Home, Jaime – Part 2 & Claws. Also included is the music from two episodes of Season 2 (Sister Jaime & Jaime and the King) and several “tracking cues” composed by Joe Harnell (The Incredible Hulk, V, Alien Nation). The 50th Anniversary Collection is being released as a 2-CD set and is now available to order on BSX/Dragon’s Domain Records’ official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the soundtrack.
‘The Adventures of Captain Zoom in Outer Space’ & ‘Asteroid’ World Premiere Soundtrack Release Announced
Dragon’s Domain Records has announced world premiere release of two television scores by Primetime Emmy Award-nominated and Daytime Emmy Award-winning composer Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Batman: The Animated Series, Escape from L.A., Willard, Memoirs of an Invisible Man). Titles include the 1995 sci-fi comedy The Adventures of Captain Zoom in Outer Space directed by Max Tash and starring Daniel Riordan, Ron Perlman, Nichelle Nichols, Liz Vassey & Gia Carides, as well as the 1997 mini-series Asteroid directed by Bradford May and starring Michael Biehn, Annabella Sciorra, Zach Charles, Don Franklin, Carlos Gomez & Michael Weatherly. The Shirley Walker Collection – Vol. 1 is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release.

BSX Records has released the first-ever soundtrack album for the 1987 television movie Young Harry Houdini co-written and directed by James Orr and starring Wil Wheaton, Jeffrey DeMunn, Kerri Green, Roy Dotrice, Barry Corbin, J. Reuben Silverbird, Rossie Harris, Phillip Brock, José Ferrer, Michael Alldredge, Sean McClory and Lee de Broux. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Emmy Award winner Lee Holdridge (Splash, The Mists of Avalon, The Beastmaster, Mr. MomOld Gringo, Oliver’s Story). The soundtrack was released digitally on the label’s official website last month and is now also available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Seasons 3-5 Soundtrack Album to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the NBC/Peacock original series Law & Order: Organized Crime. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s final three seasons composed by Ruth Barrett (Bodyguard, The Old Guard 2, The Terminal List, Victoria, The Decameron, The Girlfriend, Sanditon, Collateral, Harry Brown). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 28 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. New Soundtrack Album for NBC’s The Monkees’ Season 1 Announced
Rhino Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1960s TV series The Monkees created by Bob Rafelson & Bert Schneider and starring David Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith & Peter Tork. The album features the songs from the show’s first season by the titular band, including 14 rare, broadcast-exclusive TV mixes created especially for the comedy and more than two dozen songs from the season. Tracks include the theme song written by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart, the Neil Diamond-penned Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow) and Gerry Goffin and Carole King’s Take a Giant Step. Made for TV: Official Soundtrack to Season 1 of The Monkees will be released digitally on August 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album is also being released as a Lp/2-CD/Blu-ray box set on the same day (visit Amazon to order).
