Nitin Sawhney (The Namesake, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, Breathe, Tiger, Orangutan, Traitors, The Colour Room, What’s Love Got to Do With It?, Lila Says, Settlers) is the composer of the new NBC landmark documentary series Surviving Earth. The show showcases how life not only survived but thrived through Earth’s most catastrophic environmental crises and celebrates the incredible resilience of life and the extraordinary journey every creature has endured to still exist today. The 8-parter uses cutting-edge CGI to bring Earth’s epic story to life, from the giant sea scorpions of 450 million years ago to the mighty mammoths and sabertooths of 450,000 years ago. The project is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio & Loud Minds, with Tim Haines (Walking with Dinosaurs, Primeval) serving as lead producer. Surviving Earth will premiere this Thursday, June 11 on NBC and will also be available to stream on Peacock.
