The Vol. 4 album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Daytime Emmy Award winner and Primetime Emmy Award nominee Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Batman: The Animated Series, Willard, Escape from L.A. Dragon’s Domain Records has announced world premiere release of two television scores by Primetime Emmy Award-nominated and Daytime Emmy Award-winning composer Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Batman: The Animated Series, Escape from L.A., Willard, Memoirs of an Invisible Man). Titles include the 1995 sci-fi comedy The Adventures of Captain Zoom in Outer Space directed by Max Tash and starring Daniel Riordan, Ron Perlman, Nichelle Nichols, Liz Vassey & Gia Carides, as well as the 1997 mini-series Asteroid directed by Bradford May and starring Michael Biehn, Annabella Sciorra, Zach Charles, Don Franklin, Carlos Gomez & Michael Weatherly. The Shirley Walker Collection – Vol. 1 is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release.
World Premiere Release of Shirley Walker’s ‘Black Christmas’ Score Announced
Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2006 remake of Black Christmas written and directed by Glen Morgan and starring Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lacey Chabert, Oliver Hudson, Kristen Cloke and Andrea Martin. The album features the original score from the slasher movie composed by Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Escape from L.A., Batman: The Animated Series, Willard, Memoirs of an Invisible Man) a). The soundtrack is now available to purchase as a digital release on the label’s official website and is also expected to be available on other major digital music services in the coming weeks (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download).
New Soundtrack Album for ‘Batman Beyond’ to Be Released
Dynamic Soundtrack Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1999 animated series Batman Beyond created by Paul Dini, Bruce Timm & Alan Burnett and starring Will Friedle, Kevin Conroy, Cree Summer, Lauren Tom, Frank Welker, Stockard Channing and Angie Harmon. The Vol. 1 album features selections of the show’s original music from the show’s first season/thirteen episodes composed by Kristopher Carter, Michael McCuistion & Lolita Ritmanis (Justice League, Young Justice, Babylon 5: The Road Home, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) and Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Batman: The Animated Series, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Willard). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 8 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon.
‘Goldsmith at 20th’ Vol. IV’ & ‘Escape from L.A.’ 25th Anniversary Edition Soundtracks Announced
La-La Land Records has announced two new soundtrack albums, including the fourth volume in the label’s Goldsmith at 20th series. The album features two classic scores from 20th Century Fox productions composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Chinatown, Patton): 1973’s Ace Eli and Rodger of the Skies directed by John Erman and starring Cliff Robertson, Eric Shea & Pamela Franklin and 1970’s Tora! Tora! Tora! directed by Richard Fleischer, Toshio Masuda & Kinji Fukasaku and starring Martin Balsam, Joseph Cotten, So Yamamura, James Whitmore and E.G. Marshall. The 2-CD set features Goldsmith’s Ace Eli score in mono, as well as additional music with contributions from Alexander Courage on the first disc, and the content of La-La Land’s previous Tora! Tora! Tora! score release on the second disc.
‘Mystery Men’ Score Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere score album release for the 1999 superhero action comedy Mystery Men directed by Kinka Usher and starring Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, Hank Azaria, Claire Forlani, Eddie Izzard, Greg Kinnear, William H. Macy, Kel Mitchell, Lena Olin, Paul Reubens, Geoffrey Rush, Wes Studi and Tom Waits. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love, Quills, Proof, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin), as well as additional music by Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Batman: The Animated Series). The 2-CD set, which is part of the label’s Universal Pictures Film Music Heritage Collection, is now available to order on La-La Land’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers has published a number of video clips from the organization’s ASCAP Film & Television Music Awards gala, which was held last week at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Check out the acceptance speeches of the two honorees of the Composers’ Choice Award for Best ASCAP TV Composer of 2013, Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Dave Porter (Breaking Bad, The Blacklist), after the jump. La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 1996 action thriller Escape from L.A. directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell, Steve Buscemi and Cliff Robertson. The album features the film’s original music by Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Willard, Memoirs of an Invisible Man) and John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault on Precint 13). The expanded release features the film’s score, including cues that were not used in the final version of the Paramount Pictures production. ‘Superman: The Animated Series’ Soundtrack Set Released
La-La Land Records has announced a 4-CD soundtrack set for the Warner Bros. Television animated show Superman: The Animated Series. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Kristopher Carter, Harvey R. Cohen, Michael McCuistion and Lolita Ritmanis, as well as Shirley Walker who composed the series’ main titles theme. The 4-CD set is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio clips. The 54 episodes of Superman: The Animated Series originally aired on The WB network and reruns currently air on Hub Network.
