Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 2000 sci-fi horror thriller Hollow Man directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Elisabeth Shue, Kevin Bacon, Josh Brolin, Kim Dickens, Greg Grunberg and Joey Slotnick. The album features the complete original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Chinatown), including over half an hour of previously unreleased music, as well as around 45 minutes of alternate cues. The 2-CD set is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and learn more about the release. ‘Benedetta’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released
Dubois Records will release a soundtrack album for Paul Verhoeven’s drama Benedetta. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, The Crying Game, Elle, American History X, Poldark, Black Book, The Hustle). Benedetta is co-written and directed by Verhoeven and stars Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Daphné Patakia, Lambert Wilson, Olivier Rabourdin and Herve Pierr. The movie is based on a true story and follows a 17th-century nun who becomes entangled in a forbidden lesbian affair with a novice and whose shocking religious vision threaten to shake the Church to its core.

Earlier this week, Anne Dudley (The Crying Game, The Full Monty, American History X, Poldark) has recorded her score for the upcoming historical drama Benedetta. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct, Total Recall, Starship Troopers) and stars Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Daphné Patakia, Lambert Wilson, Olivier Rabourdin and Louise Chevillotte. The movie is based on Judith C. Brown’s academic work Immodest Acts: The Life of a Lesbian Nun In Renaissance Italy about controversial 17th Century Italian nun Benedetta Carlini.

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for Paul Verhoeven’s psychological thriller Elle. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-winning composer Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, Poldark, The Crying Game) who previously scored the director’s war drama Black Book. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 23, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is set to come out later this year. Elle stars Isabelle Huppert, Laurent Lafitte, Anne Consigny, Charles Berling, Virgine Aefira, Judith Magre, Christian Berkel, Jonas Bloquet, Alice Isaaz and Vimila Pons. The movie follows a powerful, ruthless business woman who survives an assault in her home and takes it upon herself to track down her assailant.
Jerry Goldsmith’s Complete ‘Total Recall’ Score Released
Quartet Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 1990 sci-fi action thriller Total Recall directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. The album features the film’s original original score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Planet of the Apes, The Omen) who later collaborated with the director two more times on Basic Instinct and Hollow Man. The 2-CD set release, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the movie, features the composer’s complete score on the first disc (including previously unreleased music), and the content of the 1990 soundtrack album, as well as alternates and source cues on the second disc. Anne Dudley Scoring Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Elle’
Anne Dudley is currently recording her score for the upcoming dramatic thriller Elle. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven and stars Isabelle Huppert. Laurent Lafitte, Charles Berling and Anne Consigny. The movie is based on the novel Oh… by Phillippe Dijan and follows a CEO of a gaming software company who is attacked in her home by an unknown assailant. When it appears that her assailant is not finished with her, she decides to stalk him back. David Birke (13 Sins) has written the screenplay. Saïd Ben Saïd (Carnage, Passion, Maps to the Stars) and Michel Merkt are producing the project.
Expanded ‘Escape from L.A.’ Soundtrack Released
La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 1996 action thriller Escape from L.A. directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell, Steve Buscemi and Cliff Robertson. The album features the film’s original music by Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Willard, Memoirs of an Invisible Man) and John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault on Precint 13). The expanded release features the film’s score, including cues that were not used in the final version of the Paramount Pictures production.
