Earlier this week, Anne Dudley (The Crying Game, The Full Monty, American History X, Poldark) has recorded her score for the upcoming historical drama Benedetta. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct, Total Recall, Starship Troopers) and stars Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Daphné Patakia, Lambert Wilson, Olivier Rabourdin and Louise Chevillotte. The movie is based on Judith C. Brown’s academic work Immodest Acts: The Life of a Lesbian Nun In Renaissance Italy about controversial 17th Century Italian nun Benedetta Carlini. Saïd Ben Saïd (Carnage, Passion) is producing the project. Dudley has previously collaborated with Verhoeven on the features, Black Book and Elle. Benedetta is expected to be released in France later this year.
