Terror Vision is releasing a new soundtrack album for the 1995 supernatural horror movie In the Mouth of Madness directed by John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault on Precint 13, Christine, Escape from New York. The Fog, Big Trouble in Little China, They Live) and starring Sam Neill, Julie Carmen, Jürgen Prochnow, David Warner and Charlton Heston. The album features the newly remastered original score from the New Line Cinema production composed by Carpenter & Jim Lang (Hey Arnold!, Body Bags, Dinosaur Train). As previously announced, the new version of the soundtrack is being released as a double vinyl, CD and audio cassette on the label’s official website. A digital version will be coming out on June 26 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out the track list. Expanded ‘Halloween Kills’ & ‘Halloween Ends’ Soundtracks to Be Released
Sacred Bones Records will release new soundtrack albums for the 2021 & 2022 slasher sequels Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends co-written and directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, James Jude Courtney, Judy Greer, Will Patton, Thomas Mann, Anthony Michael Hall, Rohan Campbell and Kyle Richards. The album features the expanded original scores from the second and third installment in Blumhouse’s Halloween trilogy composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter & Daniel Davies, including previously unreleased music from. John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter & Daniel Davies Scoring Alex Scharfman’s ‘Death of a Unicorn’
A24 announced today that John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault on Precint 13, The Fog, They Live), Cody Carpenter & Daniel Davies (Halloween Kills, Halloween Ends, Firestarter) have been tapped to score the upcoming comedy Death of a Unicorn. The film marks the directorial debut of producer Alex Scharfman (Resurrection, Blow the Man Down) and stars Jenna Ortega, Paul Rudd, Richard E. Grant, Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, Anthony Carrigan, Jessica Hynes, Sunita Mani and Stephen Park. The movie follows a father and daughter who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn on the way to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.
John Carpenter’s ‘Anthology II’ (Movie Themes 1976-1988) Album to Be Released
Sacred Bones Records will a new soundtrack album featuring fourteen themes by director/composer John Carpenter. Anthology II (Movie Themes 1976-1988) includes fourteen classic themes (newly recorded with his regular musical collaborators Cody Carpenter & Daniel Davies) from such films as the first three Halloween movies, Assault on Precint 13, Escape From New York, The Fog, They Live, Big Trouble in Little China and Prince of Darkness. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 14, 2022 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. BJ McDonnell’s ‘Studio 666’ to Feature Original Score by Roy Mayorga & Song by John Carpenter
Roy Mayorga, drummer of Ministry, Hellyeah and Stone Sour, has announced that he has composed the original score for the upcoming horror comedy Studio 666. John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault on Precint 13, The Fog) has written the theme song for the the film, which is directed by BJ McDonnell (Slayer: The Repentless Killogy, Hatched III) and stars all six members of the Foo Fighters (Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett & Rami Jaffee), as well as Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin. The movie follows the Foo Fighters as they move into a haunted San Fernando Valley mansion to record 2021’s Medicine at Midnight, when they find themselves grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.
