CJ ENM has released a soundtrack album for the South Korean comedy thriller No Other Choice. The album features the film’s original music composed by Cho Young-wuk (Oldboy, The Handmaiden, Thirst, Decision to Leave,The Sympathizer, The Little Drummer Girl, Lady Vengeance, Nine Puzzles) & The Soundtrackings. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track after the jump. No Other Choice is co-written and directed by Park Chan-wook and stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Yejin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Cha Seung-won, Yeom Hye-ran and Yoo Yeon-seok. The movie is based on the novel The Ax by Donald Westlake and follows a man on a desperate hunt to eliminate his competition for a new job after an abrupt layoff from the paper company he served for 25 years.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (October 14, 2022)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend while also premiering on Peacock today is the slasher sequel Halloween Ends directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, Rohan Campbell, Kyle Richards and James Jude Courtney. The film’s original music is composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter & Daniel Davies (Firestarter) who previously scored 2018’s Halloween and last year’s Halloween Kills. Sacred Bones Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide over the next couple of weeks is the biographical drama Till directed by Chinonye Chukwu and starring Danielle Deadwyler, Jalyn Hall, Whoopi Goldberg, Jayme Lawson, Frankie Faison, Tosin Cole and Haley Bennett. Abel Korzeniowski (Penny Dreadful, A Single Man, Nocturnal Animals, The Nun, The Courier) has composed the film’s original score. ‘Decision to Leave’ Soundtrack Album Released
CJ ENM has released a soundtrack album for the South Korean romantic thriller Decision to Leave. The album features the film’s original music composed by Cho Young-wuk (Oldboy, The Handmaiden, The Little Drummer Girl, Lady Vengeance, Thirst) and The Soundtrackings. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download in most international markets. No word yet on a domestic release. Visit the British iTunes/Apple Music and Amazon stores to check out audio samples. Decision to Leave is co-written and directed by Park Chan-wook and stars Tang Wei and Park Hae-il. The movie follows a detective investigating a murder who begins to suspect the dead man’s wife may know more than she initially lets on and finds himself trapped in a web of deception and desire.
‘Drug King’ Soundtrack Released
Warner Music Korea has released a soundtrack album for the South Korean crime drama Drug King (Mayakwang). The album features the film’s original music composed by Cho Young Wuk (aka Yeong-wook Jo) (The Little Drummer Girl, Oldboy, The Handmaiden, Thirst) & The Soundtrackings. Also included are several classical pieces as featured in the movie newly recorded with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra. The soundtrack is now available to stream here. A CD version will be coming out later this month and is available for pre-order here. Drug King is written and directed by Min-ho Woo and stars Song Kang-Ho, Jo Jung-Suk and Bae Doona.

Premiering tonight is the Showtime limited series Escape at Dannemora directed by Ben Stiller, written by Brett Johnson & Michael Tolkin and starring Benicio Del Toro, Patricia Arquette, Paul Dano, Bonnie Hunt, Eric Lange and David Morse. The show’s original music is composed by Edward Shearmur (Charlie’s Angels, Cruel Intentions, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Johnny English). BBC’s & AMC’s ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ to Feature Music by Cho Young Wuk & The Soundtrackings
Cho Young Wuk (aka Yeong-wook Jo) & The Soundtrackings have composed the original music for the new BBC/AMC mini-series The Little Drummer Girl. The show is directed by Chan-woon Park (Stoker) and stars Florence Pugh, Alexander Skarsgård, Michael Shannon, Clare Holman, Kate Sumpter, Charles Dance, Simona Brown and Max Irons. The 6-parter thriller based on John le Carré’s best-selling novel of the same name is set in the late 1970s and follows a fiery actress and idealist whose resolve is tested after she meets a mysterious man while on holiday in Greece.
