La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1990 spy thriller The Hunt for Red October directed by John McTiernan, based on Tom Clancy’s novel and starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, James Earl Jones, and Sam Neill.. The album features the (slightly) expanded and newly remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, Starship Troopers, For the Love of the Game, RoboCop, The Blue Lagoon, Red Dawn). The 2-CD set, which is limited to 3,000 copies and is being released to coincide with the movie’s 35th anniversary, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release.

Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1990 western Quigley Down Under directed by Simon Wincer and starring Tom Selleck, Laura San Giacomo and Alan Rickman. The album features the newly remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, The Hunt for Red October, Starship Troopers, RoboCop, For the Love of the Game, The Blue Lagoon, Red Dawn). Premiere Vinyl Edition of Basil Poledouris’ ‘RoboCop 3’ Score Announced
Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced the first-ever vinyl release of the soundtrack for the 1993 action sequel RoboCop 3 directed by Fred Dekker and starring Robert John Burke, Nancy Allen and Rip Torn. The album features the film’s original score composed by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, Starship Troopers, The Hunt for Red October, For the Love of the Game) who also scored Paul Verhoeven’s original RoboCop movie and will be available as a “Delta City Yellow” 2-LP pressing, which comes housed in a gatefold jacket featuring brand-new artwork from illustrator Estevan Silveira. The soundtrack will be released on January 17, 2025 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
‘For the Love of the Game’ Deluxe Edition Score Album Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1999 sports drama For the Love of the Game directed by Sam Raimi and starring Kevin Costner, Kelly Preston, Jena Malone, John C. Reilly and Brian Cox. The album features the features the expanded original score from the film composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, RoboCop, Starship Troopers, The Blue Lagoon, The Hunt for Red October, Lonesome Dove), including around 45 minutes of previously unreleased music. The Deluxe Edition soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website and will also be coming out digitally next Friday, June 28 (click here to stream/download). The label has previously released the original score album, while MCA Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie when the drama opened in theaters in 1999.
Expanded ‘Conan the Destroyer’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1984 fantasy adventure Conan the Destroyer directed by Richard Fleischer and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mako, Grace Jones, Tracey Walter, Wilt Chamberlain and Olivia d’Abo. The album features the expanded original score from the film composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Barbarian, RoboCop, The Blue Lagoon, Starship Troopers, The Hunt for Red October), including almost 30 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as alternate cues. The 2-CD set is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples. ‘Basil Poledouris: The Music and the Movies’ Concert Announced
The Los Angeles Film Orchestra has announced their debut performance, Basil Poledouris: The Music and The Movies at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall on July 22, 2022 at 8:00pm PT. The orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Steven Allen Fox, will be joined by the SoCal Chorale led by Choir Maestra Marya Basaraba. The concert will feature suites from some of Poledouris’ best known film scores including The Blue Lagoon, The Hunt for Red October, Free Willy and more. Special presenters and guest conductors will include composers John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book), John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Office Space), John Ottman (X2, The Usual Suspects), Christopher Lennertz (The Boys, Lost in Space), and filmmakers Randal Kleiser (The Blue Lagoon), Paul Verhoeven (RoboCop, Starship Troopers), John Milius (Conan The Barbarian, Red Dawn), and surprise guests.

Graham and starring Milla Jovovich & Brian Krause. The album, which coincides with the series’ 30th anniversary, features the show’s original music composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, Robocop, Free Willy, Starship Troopers) who received an Emmy Award for his work on the project, as well as a new exclusive track composed and performed by Zoë Poledouris and her husband Angel Roché, which uses her father’s timeless themes from the original score in tribute.
