Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1992 adventure drama Medicine Man directed by John McTiernan and starring Sean Connery and Lorraine Bracco. The Deluxe Edition album features the film’s expanded original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Patton, Basic Instinct, Planet of the Apes, Gremlins, Chinatown), including 13 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as an alternate mix of the opening track Rae’s Arrival. ‘The Hunt for Red October’ 35th Anniversary Expanded Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1990 spy thriller The Hunt for Red October directed by John McTiernan, based on Tom Clancy’s novel and starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, James Earl Jones, and Sam Neill.. The album features the (slightly) expanded and newly remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, Starship Troopers, For the Love of the Game, RoboCop, The Blue Lagoon, Red Dawn). The 2-CD set, which is limited to 3,000 copies and is being released to coincide with the movie’s 35th anniversary, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release.

La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 fantasy action comedy Last Action Hero directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austin O’Brien, F. Murray Abraham, Art Carney, Mercedes Ruehl, Charles Dance, Frank McRae, Robert Prosky, Tom Noonan and Anthony Quinn. The album features the film’s expanded and remastered original score composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee Michael Kamen (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, X-Men, The Three Musketeers, The Iron Giant), including around an hour of previously unreleased music. The 2-CD set is limited to 3,000 copies and will be available to order on the label’s official website at noon today and on Amazon within the next few weeks.
Laurent Eyquem to Score John McTiernan’s ‘Red Squad’
Laurent Eyquem is set to score the upcoming thriller Red Squad. John McTiernan will be directing the film, which follows a former DEA agent with a rogue streak and his select team of mercenaries who descend upon a Mexican border town to neutralize a drug lord. The movie’s cast is expected to be announced soon. Rionda Del Castro is producing the Hannibal Classics production with Michael Mendelsohn. Eyquem has previously scored the production company’s thriller Tokarev starring Nicolas Cage. McTiernan has previously collaborated with composers including Michael Kamen (Die Hard), Alan Silvestri (Predator), Jerry Goldsmith (The 13th Warrior), Basil Poledouris (The Hunt for Red October), Bill Conti (The Thomas Crown Affair) and Klaus Badelt (Basic).
