Variety has confirmed that Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, 1917) has composed the theme for upcoming FX limited series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. It has previously been revealed that the Academy Award-nominated composer’s daughter Julia Newman is scoring the show written by Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, Stonewall) based on the book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer and starring Tom Hollander (as Truman Capote), Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Treat Williams, Joe Mantello and Russell Tovey.

‘Feud: Bette and Joan’ Soundtrack to Be Released
20th Century Fox TV Records will release a soundtrack album for the FX original series Feud: Bette and Joan. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, American Crime Story) who recently received his third and fourth Emmy nominations for his score and main titles theme from the series. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 11, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Feud: Bette and Joan is created by Ryan Murphy, Jaffe Cohen & Michael Zam and stars Jessica Lange & Susan Sarandon in the title roles, alongside Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis, Jackie Hoffman and Alison Wright.

Mac Quayle is composing the music for the upcoming FX anthology series Feud. The show’s first season, Bette and Joan, centers on the legendary rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis during the filming of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? and after filming ended. The show is developed by Ryan Murphy (Glee, Nip/Tuck) and stars Jessica Lange as Crawford, Susan Sarandon as Davis, alongside Judy Davis, Jackie Hoffman, Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci and Alison Wright.
