Composer Dave Palmer is reteaming with director Peter Farrelly (Green Book, There’s Something About Mary) on the upcoming biographical drama I Play Rocky. The film stars Anthony Ippolito as Sylvester Stallone, alongside AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts, Matt Dillon, Jay Duplass, Stephan James and Kiki Seto. The movie follows an unknown Stallone as he gambles everything on himself, refusing to sell his highly sought-after Rocky screenplay unless the studio lets him star as Rocky Balboa.

Premiering tonight is the third season of the HBO original series Euphoria created by Sam Levinson and starring Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Colman Domingo and Maude Apatow. The new season’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Interstellar, Dune, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rain Man, Man of Steel), taking over from Labrinth who scored the first two seasons and was originally announced to co-score Season 3 with Zimmer. The drama’s final season will air every Sunday night on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Also premiering tonight is the AMC original series The Audacity created by Jonathan Glatzer and starring Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Rob Corddry, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg, Meaghan Rath and Paul Adelstein. Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Speak No Evil, The Gift, The Outsider, Black Rabbit, Boy Erased, Enemy, The Staircase, Smoke, Tulsa King, The White Tiger) are composing the show’s original music. The film starring Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser, Benjamin Bratt, Sacha Baron Cohen, Daniela Melchior, Eva De Dominici, Molly Shannon & Eric André follows two marketing executives who pitch a bold full‑coverage condom sponsorship with the World Cup. But after their drunken celebration in Brazil sparks a global scandal, they must outrun furious fans, power-hungry officials and criminals to salvage their careers and make it home alive.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller The Accountant 2 directed by Gavin O’Connor and starring Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, J.K. The film’s original music is composed by The National’s Bryce Dessner (Sing Sing, We Live in Time, The Two Popes, Bardo, Cyrano, She Came to Me,Manhunt, A Good Person). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as cover version of Nina Simone’s See-Line Woman performed by Danielle Ponder & Dessner last Friday. Also opening nationwide is the survival horror thriller Until Dawn based on PlayStation Studios’s video game, directed by David F. Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Twisters, Alien: Romulus, Shazam!, The Flash, Blade Runner 2049, The Invisible Man, Hidden Figures) has composed the film’s original music. Composer Dave Palmer is reteaming with director Peter Farrelly (Green Book, Dumb and Dumber) on the new comedy Ricky Stanicky. The film starring Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, Lex Scott Davis, Jeff Ross, Anja Savcic & William H. Macy follows three childhood best friends who invented the imaginary title character to get them out of trouble after they pull a prank gone wrong, but when their partners become suspicious, they have to hire a washed-up actor to portray their fictional friend. Tom Wolfe & Manish Raval serve as the movie’s music supervisors.

Dave Palmer is the composer of the upcoming comedy drama The Greatest Beer Run Ever. The film is directed by Peter Farrelly (Green Book, Dumb and Dumber) and stars Zac Efron, Russell Crowe, Jake Picking and Will Ropp. The movie is based on the book of the same title by Joanna Molloy & John “Chickie” Donohue and tells the true story of a merchant seaman who, in 1967, accepted a bet to personally deliver a case of beer from New York to his army buddies in Vietnam.

Premiering in the U.S. on Friday, October 27, is the British drama Fearless created by Patrick Harbinson and starring Helen McCrory, Jonathan Forbes, Sam Swainsbury, Rebecca Callard, Wunmi Mosaku, Robin Weigert, John Bishop, Jamie Bamber, Emma Hamilton and Michael Gambon. The show’s original music is composed by Ruth Barrett (Harry Brown, Victoria, Toast, Love, Nina, Hunted). The crime drama, which revolves around a human rights lawyer known for defending lost causes, premiered in the UK this summer on ITV and will debut in the U.S. on Amazon Prime.
Brian Reitzell co-scoring Beginners
Brian Reitzell has recently co-scored the dramedy Beginners with Roger Neill and Dave Palmer. The movie directed by Mike Mills (Thumbsucker) stars Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer and Melanie Laurent. Beginners tells the story of a man who learns that his terminally ill father is gay and has a young lover. The film premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and has recently been picked up by Focus Features for a release in 2011.
As reported earlier, Reitzell also has the Catherine Hardwicke-directed Red Riding Hood starring Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman coming out in early 2011.
