Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the Japanese monster movie Godzilla Minus Zero written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki and starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Hidetake Yoshioka, Min Tanaka, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Masami Nagasawa, Yuki Yamada, Iun Kunimura, Sakura Ando and Mio Tanaka. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Wednesday and Rambling Records has released a CD and vinyl edition in Japan. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow, Bad Boys for Life,The LEGO Batman Movie, Black Adam, His Dark Materials, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the project’s theme song by Fitz & Tim Minchin and original end credits Hilary Duff last Friday. Danny Lopez & Garrett P. Tyler have composed the film’s original score and the Christian pop duo for KING & COUNTRY wrote the project’s original songs. Opening in select cities this weekend before expanding nationwide on November 20 is the biographical drama I Play Rocky directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Anthony Ippolito, AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Matt Dillon,Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts, Jay Duplass, Kiki Seto and Stephan James. The film’s original score is composed by Dave Palmer (The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Ricky Stanicky, Balls Up, Loudermilk). The movie also feature nine songs written and performed by Andrew Bird (Norman, Baskets, Poolman, Outside In, The Bubble). Already playing in select theaters since this past Wednesday is the action thriller sequel The Last Temptation of Becky directed by Jenn Wexler and starring Lulu Wilson, Neil Patrick Harris, James Urbaniak, Brandon Flynn and Kate Siegel. Nima Fakhrara (Lou, Detroit: Become Human, The Signal, The Pyramid, Sick, Alone) who previously scored 2020’s Becky and 2023’s The Wrath of Becky has composed the film’s original score.
