Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller The Accountant 2 directed by Gavin O’Connor and starring Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, J.K. Simmons, Allison Robertson and Daniella Pineda. The film’s original music is composed by The National’s Bryce Dessner (Sing SingWe Live in Time, The Two PopesBardo, Cyrano, She Came to Me,Manhunt, A Good Person). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as  cover version of Nina Simone’s See-Line Woman performed by Danielle Ponder & Dessner last Friday. Also opening nationwide is the survival horror thriller Until Dawn based on PlayStation Studios’s video game, directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Maia Mitchell, Belmont Cameli and Peter Stormare. Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Twisters, Alien: RomulusShazam!, The Flash, Blade Runner 2049The Invisible Man, Hidden Figures) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 800 theaters is the documentary Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie directed by David L. Bushell about the enduring legacy of pioneering comics Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. The film’s original music is composed by Dave Palmer (BeginnersThe Greatest Beer Run Ever, Ricky Stanicky, Loudermilk). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which features interviews, sketches, and never-before-seen footage spanning the duo’s five-decade career, premiered at last year’s SXSW Film Festival and is being distributed by Keep Smokin’.

Also opening-semi wide in around 500 theaters is the drama On Swift Horses directed by Daniel Minahan and starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, Diego Calva and Sasha Calle. Mark Orton (The HoldoversNebraska, My Old Lady12 Mighty Orphans, The Good GirlLove Hard) has composed the film’s original music. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two original songs by Loren Kramar today. Opening in New York today before expanding to more markets over the next couple of weeks is the Georgian/French/Italian drama April written and directed by Dea Kulumbegashvili and starring Ia Sukhitashvili, Kakha Kintsurashvili and Merab Ninidze. The film’s original music is composed by Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, The Wonder, Gloria Bell, The Beast Must DieThe ResponderThe CaveTemple). No word on a soundtrack release. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is romantic drama Winter Spring Summer or Fall directed by Tiffany Paulsen and starring Jenna Ortega, Percy Hynes White, Adam Rodriguez Javie, Marisol Nichols and Elias Kacavas. Death Cab for Cutie’s Zac Rae (Once Upon a RiverAll Happy Families) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the musician’s score, as well as four songs by Evangeline today. Also opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the crime thriller Neighborhood Watch directed by Duncan Skiles and starring Jack Quaid, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Klock, Cecile Cubilo and Malin Akerman. The film’s original music is composed by Jojo Draven (Like Father, Like Son, Reel Evil). No soundtrack album has been released yet. The movie, which follows a young man who thinks he witnesses an abduction and reluctantly turns to his next door neighbor – a bitter, retired security guard – to help him find the missing woman, is being distributed by RLJE Films.

Also opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the crime thriller Mob Cops directed by Danny A. Abeckaser and starring David Arquette, Jeremy Luke, Abeckaser himself, Kevin Connolly, Joseph Russo, Bo Dietl, Kyle Stefanski, Nathaniel Buzolic and Graham Sibley. Lionel Cohen (First We Take Brooklyn, Mob Town, The Engineer, Inside ManFeral State, Blackjack: The Jackie Ryan Story, Bardejov) has composed the film’s original music.
