Composer Dave Palmer is reteaming with director Peter Farrelly (Green Book, There’s Something About Mary) on the upcoming biographical drama I Play Rocky. The film stars Anthony Ippolito as Sylvester Stallone, alongside AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts, Matt Dillon, Jay Duplass, Stephan James and Kiki Seto. The movie follows an unknown Stallone as he gambles everything on himself, refusing to sell his highly sought-after Rocky screenplay unless the studio lets him star as Rocky Balboa.

The film starring Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, Lex Scott Davis, Jeff Ross, Anja Savcic & William H. Macy follows three childhood best friends who invented the imaginary title character to get them out of trouble after they pull a prank gone wrong, but when their partners become suspicious, they have to hire a washed-up actor to portray their fictional friend. Tom Wolfe & Manish Raval serve as the movie’s music supervisors.

Dave Palmer is the composer of the upcoming comedy drama The Greatest Beer Run Ever. The film is directed by Peter Farrelly (Green Book, Dumb and Dumber) and stars Zac Efron, Russell Crowe, Jake Picking and Will Ropp. The movie is based on the book of the same title by Joanna Molloy & John “Chickie” Donohue and tells the true story of a merchant seaman who, in 1967, accepted a bet to personally deliver a case of beer from New York to his army buddies in Vietnam.
‘Green Book’ Soundtrack Released
Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the comedy drama Green Book. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kris Bowers (Dear White People, For the People, Of Monsters and Men). Also included are the songs from the movie by The Blue Jays, Timmy Shaw, The Blackwells, Jack’s Four, Bob Kelly & others, as well as the performances of The Don Shirley Trio as featured in the film. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. A CD version is set to come out on December 7 and is available to order here and a vinyl version is also in the works. Green Book is co-written and directed by Peter Farrelly and stars Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali, Linda Cardellini, Sebastian Maniscalco, Dimiter D. Marinov and P.J. Byrne.

Kris Bowers is scoring the upcoming drama Green Book. The film is directed by Peter Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Me, Myself & Irene) and stars Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali and Linda Cardellini. The movie is set in 1962 and tells the true story of the growing friendship between Tony Lip, a nightclub bouncer who’s been hired to chauffeur the highly-educated African-American piano-playing prodigy Dr. Don Shirley through the Deep South on a concert tour.

The ensemble all-star comedy Movie 43 produced by Peter Farrelly opened nationwide last weekend. Several composers have composed the score of the different comedy shorts within the film. William Goodrum who has previously contributed music for most of the Farrelly Brothers’ features including There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal and most recently, The Three Stooges has scored the overarching segment The Pitch starring Dennis Quaid, Greg Kinnear & Common, as well as the shorts Homeschooled directed by Will Graham and starring Naomi Watts & Liev Schreiber, The Proposition directed by Steve Carr and starring Anna Faris & Chris Pratt, Veronica directed by Griffin Dunne and starring Emma Stone & Kieran Culkin, Middle School Date directed by Elizabeth Banks and starring Chloe Grace Moretz & Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Victory’s Glory directed by Rusty Cundieff and starring Terrence Howard. David J. Hodge has written the score for the segment Superhero Speed Dating directed by James Duffy and starring Justin Long, Jason Sudekis & Kristen Bell, while Goodrum provided additional music.
John Debney to Score ‘The Three Stooges’
John Debney has been hired to score the upcoming slapstick comedy The Three Stooges. The film based on the mid-20th century comedy shorts is directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber). The movie stars Chris Diamantopolous as Moe Howard, Sean Hayes as Larry Fine and Will Sasso as Curly Howard. Sofia Vergara, Jane Lynch, Larry David, Jennifer Hudson, Craig Bierko and Carly Craig are co-starring. Mike Cerrone (Me, Myself and Irene) co-wrote the screenplay with the Farrelly Brothers who are also producing with Bradley Thomas and Charles B. Wessler. The Three Stooges takes place when the trio are dumped out as newborns at the door of an orphanage and the story follows them into adulthood. According to an interview with Peter Farrelly on EW.com, the film is structured in three acts, each a stand-alone story like the original episodes, but loosely connected.
