The film is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn (Wish) & Jason Hand (Moana 2), co-directed by Josie Trinidad and features the voices of Hailee Steinfeld, Rashida Jones, Tracie Ullman, Jodie Foster, Walton Goggins and Stephen Fry. The movie follows tells the story a teenage oddball and her Type A mom, who discovers her weirdness is actually hidden magic, transporting them to a world where magic can run free.

Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, Green Book, GOAT, Spider-Noir, The Color Purple, Haunted Mansion, Secret Invasion, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dear White People) has provided the original score for the upcoming biographical sports drama Mr. Irrelevant. The film is directed by Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, The Night Before) and stars David Corenswet, Isabel May, David Krumholtz, Thaddeus LaGrone, Tuwaine Barrett, Alexander England, Tandi Wright, Spencer House and Michael Shannon. The movie tells the true story of John Tuggle, the last player selected in the last round of the 1983 NFL draft by the New York Giants, who defied expectations on the field and off for his then first-year head coach, his newfound love and his team.
‘Spider-Noir’ Soundtrack CD Version Announced
Milan Records will release a CD version of the soundtrack album for the Prime Video original series Spider-Noir developed by Oren Uziel & Steven Lightfoot and starring Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, Green Book, King Richard, Secret Invasion) & Michael Dean Parsons (Pain Hustlers, Light & Magic, Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure) who recently received an Emmy Award nomination for their work on the project, Kirby’s main title theme and Li Jun Li’s on-screen performances, including the original song The Devil You Know written by Oak Felder, Sebastian Kole & Daniel Pemberton who also are also Emmy-nominated for the track. The soundtrack CD will be released on September 18 and is now available for pre-order exclusively on Amazon.

This past week, Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, GOAT, Green Book, Spider-Noir, Haunted Mansion, The Color Purple, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dear White People) has been recording his score for the upcoming Netflix original animated film Steps. The movie is directed by Alyce Tzue & John Ripa (Raya and the Last Dragon) and stars Ali Wong, Amanda Seyfried, Stephanie Hsu, Daniel Radcliffe, Nikki Glaser, Young Mazino, Peter Dinklage and Bette Midler. The animated comedy tells the story of a misunderstood young woman who is blamed for hijacking the Royal Ball with a stolen magic wand and – after accidentally turning her sister into a frog – must team up with Cinderella (and a surprisingly dreamy troll) to save the kingdom.
Kris Bowers Elected to Academy Board of Governors
Composer Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Green Book, King Richard, Bridgerton, The Color Purple, GOAT, Haunted Mansion, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Secret Invasion) has been elected to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2026-2027 Board of Governors. He joins Carter Burwell and Lesley Barber who will be the other two governors of the music branch in the next term. It will mark Bowers’ first term serving on the music branch board. The Academy’s 19 branches are each represented by three governors, who may serve up to three consecutive three-year terms, followed by a two-year hiatus, after which eligibility renews for up to two additional three-year terms for a lifetime maximum of 12 years.
‘Spider-Noir’ Vinyl Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
Milan Records has announced a vinyl edition of the soundtrack album for the Prime Video original series Spider-Noir. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, The Color Purple, Green Book, King Richard) & Michael Dean Parsons (Pain Hustlers, Light & Magic, Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure), Kirby’s main title theme and actress Li Jun Li’s on-screen performances. The double LP, which is pressed on opaque silver vinyl, housed in a gatefold package featuring exclusive artwork from the series alongside a printed insert and special collectible poster, will be released on August 28 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, Green Book, King Richard, The Color Purple, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Haunted Mansion, Secret Invasion) and Michael Dean Parsons (Pain Hustlers, Light & Magic, Sketchbook,Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure, Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return). Also included is the opening titles song Saving Grace by Kirby (previously released as a digital single), as well as the cover version of Dream a Little Dream of Me and the original song The Devils You Know (written by Oak Felder & Sebastian Kole) performed by Li Jun Li who stars as Cat Hardy. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Wednesday May 27 by Sony Classical and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Spider-Noir is developed by Oren Uziel & Steven Lightfoot and also stars Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson.

Premiering today is the second season of the Netflix original series Bad Thoughts created by Tom Segura and starring Segura himself, alongside guest stars including Alex English, Allegra Edwards, Brooks Wheelan, Busy Philipps, Christina Pazsitsky,Frankie Quinones, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Johnny Pemberton, Kevin Nealon, Lily Sullivan, Luke Wilson, Maria Bamford, Mike Mitchell and Odette Annable. Dan Gross (Drunk History, Nude Nuns with Big Guns) has composed the new season’s original music, taking over from Pinar Toprak & Gerrit Wunder who scored last year’s first season. The comedy, which follows Segura as he navigates unthinkable situations and fantasies within a cinematic world, is available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, May 25, is the British TV series Summerwater developed by John Donnelly based on Sarah Moss’ book of the same name and starring Dougray Scott, Shirley Henderson, Valene Kane, Arnas Fedaravičius, Anna Próchniak, Shereen Cutkelvin, James Harkness, Anders Hayward and Daniel Rigby. The show’s original music is composed by Gazelle Twin (aka Elizabeth Bernholz) (The Power, Black Cab, Welcome to the Blumhouse: Nocturne, Then You Run). Invada Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the drama premiered in the UK on Channel 4. Hollywood Records & Marvel Music will release a soundtrack album for Marvel’s The Punisher: One Last Kill. The album features the original music from the Marvel Television special presentation composed by Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, GOAT, Green Book, King Richard, Haunted Mansion, Secret Invasion, The Color Purple, Dear White People, Space Jam: A New Legacy). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 15 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. The Punisher: One Last Kill is co-written and directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and stars Jon Bernthal (who reprises his role of the title character from the 2017 Netflix series and Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again), Deborah Ann Woll, Jason R. Moore and Judith Light. The special follows Frank Castle as he searches for meaning beyond revenge, when an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight.
