Premiering tomorrow, March 30 is the PBS documentary Henry David Thoreau directed by Erik Ewers & Christopher Loren Ewers, executive produced by Ken Burns & Don Henley, narrated by George Clooney and featuring the voices of Jeff Goldblum, Meryl Streep, Ted Danson and Tate Donovan. The 2-part film’s original music is composed by David Cieri (The Vietnam War, Hemingway, Oklahoma City, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History). Ropeadope will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score tomorrow. ‘Secrets of the Bees’ Soundtrack Album Released
Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album for the National Geographic original documentary series Secrets of the Bees. Dan Deacon Scoring Sara Dosa’s ‘Time and Water’
Dan Deacon (Task, Venom: The Last Dance, Ascension, The Changeling, Hustle, Rez Ball, Twixt, Strawberry Mansion, All Light, Everywhere, Wedding Season) has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Time and Water. The film is directed by Sara Dosa (Fire of Love, The Seer and the Unseen) and centers on Icelandic writer Andri Snær Magnason who is facing the death of his country’s glaciers and the loss of his beloved grandparents as he turns his archives into a time capsule to hold what is slipping away – family, time, memory, and water.

Claudia Sarne (Shining Girls, Triple 9, The Book of Eli, Earthquake Bird, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Broken City) has provided the original score for the upcoming National Geographic documentary Lost in the Jungle. The film is directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, Nayad) and Juan Camilo Cruz (In Her Hands) and tells the true story of four young siblings who crash land deep within the Colombian rainforest, and the dramatic rescue mission that unfolds, uniting Indigenous trackers and the military in a race against time. The movie features accounts directly from the children themselves and the rescuers who scoured the Amazon rainforest for a grueling 40 days and nights to find them.

The sci-fi drama, which follows a hybrid prototype and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers as they make a fateful discovery when a mysterious deep space research vessel crash-lands on Earth that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat, will air every Tuesday on FX and will also be available to stream on Hulu.
Blake Neely Scoring National Geographic’s ‘Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story’
Blake Neely (Masters of the Air, The Pacific, The Flight Attendant, The Flash, You, Greyhound, Everwood, Arrow, Riverdale, Life As We Know It) has composed the original music for the new National Geographic original documentary Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story. The film is directed by Laurent Bouzereau (Music by John Williams, Faye) and chronicles the making of Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic Jaws, from Peter Benchley’s bestselling novel to the cinematic phenomenon it became, with the director himself diving back into the story that launched his career and earned him final cut on the film, a creative control he has maintained for the last 50 years. The movie features never-before-seen footage from Spielberg’s and producer Wendy Benchley’s personal archives, including home videos and rare outtakes, as well as interviews with cast and crew (including John Williams).

The series’ theme song, Underdog by Green Day, is available separately on the band’s latest record, Saviors (édition de luxe). Underdogs is narrated by Ryan Reynolds and centers on animal kingdom’s outcasts, with each episode showcasing a different aspect of these underdogs’ bizarre mating strategies, deception, dubious parenting skills, surprising superpowers and gross-out behaviors.
