Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror feature Obsession written and directed by Curry Barker and stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Megan Lawless, Andy Richter and Cooper Tomlinson. The film’s original music is composed by Rock Burwell. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer and singer/songwriter’s score today and Waxwork Records will release a vinyl edition. Also opening wide is the action thriller In the Grey written and directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Kristofer Hivju, Rosamund Pike, Michael Vu, Emmet J. Scanlan, Carlos Bardem, Fisher Stevens and Jason Wong. Chris Benstead (The Gentlemen, Young Sherlock, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Wrath of Man, Fountain of Youth, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre) has composed the film’s original music. Filmtrax/Atlantic Screen Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak, Office Space, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, The Waterfront, Legion, Thirteen Ghosts, Gods and Generals) has provided the original score for the upcoming comedy Driver’s Ed. The film is directed by Bobby Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Dumb & Dumber) and stars Sam Nivola, Sophie Telegadis, Aidan Laprete, Mohana Krishnan, Molly Shannon and Kumail Nanjiani. The movie follows a high school senior who hits the road to save his relationship with his college-bound girlfriend, with his principal and driving instructor in hot pursuit.

Hulu’s ‘King of the Hill’ Revival to Feature Original Score by John Frizzell and End Titles Music by Billy Strings

John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Office Space, Dante’s Peak, The Waterfront, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Legion, Thirteen Ghosts, Gods and Generals) is returning to score Hulu’s revival of the animated hit series King of the Hill. The composer has scored all ten episodes of the new season of the show created by Mike Judge & Greg Daniels and starring Judge himself, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Johnny Hardwick, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss. Bluegrass singer/songwriter and guitarist Billy Strings has contributed a new arrangement of The Refreshment’s theme “song” for the end titles sequence of the animated comedy. Season 14 follows Hank and Peggy Hill who – after years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg – return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill.

Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘The Waterfront’ to Be Released

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Waterfront. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak, Office Space, Thirteen Ghosts, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, The Following, Gods and Generals, Legion). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 20 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s end credits track below. The Waterfront is created by Kevin Williamson and stars Holt McCallany, Melissa Benoist, Jake Weary, Maria Bello, Brady Hepner, Humberly González, Rafael L. Silva and Danielle Campbell. The drama follows revolves around a prominent fishing family as their attempts to retain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire drive them to increasingly dangerous means to keep themselves afloat.

Premiering tonight is the National Geographic original documentary series Underdogs narrated by Ryan Reynolds and executive produced by Mark Linfield, Vanessa Berlowitz and Dan Ree. The show’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Gladiator 2, Mulan, Chicken Run, The Gilded Age, Kingdom of Heaven, Spy Game, The Meg). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. Also premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV series Patience created by Matt Baker based on the French TV format Astrid et Raphaëlle and starring Laura Fraser and Ella Maisy Purvis. Hannes De Maeyer (Gangsta, The Couple Next Door, Rebel, Noise, Professor T, Rafaël, Torpedo, The Racer) & Ruben De Gheselle (Young Hearts, Clara Sola, A Cops and Robbers Story) have composed the show’s original music. Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score this past March. This year’s panelists include John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner) who recently scored Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Election, Up in the Air) whose recent projects include Kristin Scott Thomas’ North Star and David Fleming (The Last of Us, Damsel) who recently received his first two Emmy Award nominations for the Prime Video series Mr. & Mrs. Smith and the Disney+ documentary Jim Henson: Idea Man.

Paramount Music will release a soundtrack album for the Paramount+ original movie Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Office Space, Dante’s Peak, The Following, King of the Hill, Thirteen Ghosts, Legion) who previously scored 1996’s Beavis and Butt-Head Do America and has recorded his new score with a 69-piece orchestra in Vienna. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 8.
