A number of major film/TV/video game composers will be participating at the 15th Annual Fans of Film Music event, which will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Silent Zoo Studios in Glendale, CA. This year’s panelists include John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner) who recently scored Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Election, Up in the Air) whose recent projects include Kristin Scott Thomas’ North Star and David Fleming (The Last of Us, Damsel) who recently received his first two Emmy Award nominations for the Prime Video series Mr. & Mrs. Smith and the Disney+ documentary Jim Henson: Idea Man.

Soundtrack Album for HBO Documentary ‘The Bronx, USA’ to Be Released
Notefornote Music will release a soundtrack album for the HBO documentary The Bronx, USA. The album features the original song Da Bronx written by Charles Fox with lyrics by Paul Williams and performed by Robert Klein and Donald Webber Jr. The track was one of the fifteen shortlisted original songs at this year’s Academy Awards. Also included are tracks by the movie’s composers Nathan East, John Robinson and Tom Scott, as well as well as other songs from the film. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 31, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Bronx, USA is directed by Danny Gold and follows producer George Shapiro as he returns to his hometown of the Bronx and reflects on the singularity of the borough he grew up in and the close friendships he made there that have stood the test of time.
‘Planet of the Apes’ Original Film Series Soundtrack Collection Announced
La-La Land Records, 20th Century Fox, Fox Music and Varèse Sarabande have announced a new 5-CD Box Set collection featuring the remastered original scores from the original Planet of the Apes film franchise, including the scores from the original 1968 film and 1971’s Escape from the Planet of the Apes composed by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown), 1970’s Beneath the Planet of the Apes and 1973’s Battle for the Planet of the Apes composed by Leonard Rosenman (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, A Man Called Horse) and 1972’s Conquest of the Planet of the Apes composed by Tom Scott (Soul Man).
