Air-Edel Records has announced a soundtrack album for the New Zealand TV series New Zealand Spy. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Stephen Gallagher (The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, Mystic, Puppet Killer, Conquering Cancer) & series creator Paul Williams. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 16 (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download). Also listen to Gallagher’s first track below. New Zealand Spy is created by Williams and stars Williams himself, Joe Thomas, Rose Matafeo, Bret McKenzie, Claudia O’Doherty, Abby Howells, Scotty Cotter, Jay Ryan, Rhys Mathewson, Tony Armstrong and Andy Lee. The comedy follows three unlikely candidates who respond to a newspaper from a New Zealand Intelligence Agency seeking recruits and are thrust into espionage, fumbling through betrayal, romance and escalating absurdity.

Interscope Records has released the original song If It’s to Be from the Netflix animated event series Maya and the Three. The track written by Academy Award winners Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, 21 Grams, The Book of Life) & Paul Williams (The Muppet Movie, A Star Is Born) and performed by Grammy Award winner Kali Uchis is now available to stream/download as a digital single (which also features a Spanish language version) on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Soundtrack Album for HBO Documentary ‘The Bronx, USA’ to Be Released
Notefornote Music will release a soundtrack album for the HBO documentary The Bronx, USA. The album features the original song Da Bronx written by Charles Fox with lyrics by Paul Williams and performed by Robert Klein and Donald Webber Jr. The track was one of the fifteen shortlisted original songs at this year’s Academy Awards. Also included are tracks by the movie’s composers Nathan East, John Robinson and Tom Scott, as well as well as other songs from the film. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 31, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Bronx, USA is directed by Danny Gold and follows producer George Shapiro as he returns to his hometown of the Bronx and reflects on the singularity of the borough he grew up in and the close friendships he made there that have stood the test of time.
Gustavo Santaolalla to Write Music for Guillermo del Toro’s ‘The Day of the Dead’ and ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ Stage Musical
Deadline is reporting that Gustavo Santaolalla and Paul Williams are writing songs for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming CG-animated film The Day of the Dead. The movie is directed and co-written by Jorge R. Gutierrez (El Tigre) and is being described as a “Romeo and Juliet-style love story set against a the Mexican holiday “Day of the Dead””. Del Toro is producing the Reel FX production with Aaron Berger and Carina Schulze. The project marks del Toro’s first Mexican film production in almost two decades. The Day of the Dead is targeting a release in the fall of 2014. Santaolalla who received two Academy Awards for his work on Brokeback Mountain and Babel is also composing the music for a stage version of Guillermo del Toro’s 2006 hit film Pan’s Labyrinth about a young stepdaughter of a sadistic army officer who finds refuge and terror in a fantasy world in 1944 Fascist Spain.
