Universal Music Latin has released a new soundtrack album for the 2000 Mexican drama Amores Perros directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Emilio Echevarría, Gael García Bernal, Goya Toledo, Vanessa Bauche, Álvaro Guerrero, Jorge Salinas, Humberto Busto and Adriana Barraza. The album features the film’s newly remastered original score composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, The Last of Us, Babel, The Book of Life, The Motorcycle Diaries, August: Osage County), as well as the songs from the movie by artists such as Control Machete, Nacho Pop, Café Tacvba, Julieta Venegas, Titan, Fiebre & others. ‘Brokeback Mountain’ 20th Anniversary Vinyl Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
Verve Forecast & Focus Features have announced the premiere vinyl release of the soundtrack album for the 2005 drama Brokeback Mountain directed by Ang Lee and starring Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams. The album, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 20th anniversary, features the film’s Academy Award-winning original score and songs (performed by Emmylou Harris, Teddy Thompson & Mary McBride) composed by Gustavo Santaolalla (The Last of Us, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Book of Life, August: Osage County), as well as songs by Willie Nelson, Rufus Wainwright & others. The vinyl edition, which is housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket and includes a 16-page booklet featuring rare photos from the film’s production, will be released in number of unique color variants on September 19. ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the second season of the HBO original series The Last of Us have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Book of Life, The Motorcycle Diaries) and Emmy Award winner David Fleming (Superman, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jim Henson: Idea Man, Damsel, Hillbilly Elegy, The Unforgivable). Also included is Bella Ramsey’s rendition of A-ha’s Take on Me and Ashley Johnson’s cover of Shawn James’s Through the Valley. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 23 by Milan Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The label has previously released a first track (The Path by Santaolalla & Tom Morello) from Season 2 last month, as well as a full soundtrack album featuring the music from Season 1 back in 2023.
First Track from HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Soundtrack Released
Milan Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for the second season of the HBO original series The Last of Us. Available to stream/download now on most major digital music services is a new version of The Path (originally written for the 2013 video game) written by Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Book of Life, The Motorcycle Diaries) and performed by Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine). Pedro Páramo marks the directorial debut of Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto and stars Manuel García-Rulfo, Tenoch Huerta, Ilse Salas, Roberto Sosa, Mayra Batalla, Noé Hernández, Dolores Heredia, Héctor Kotsifakis, Giovanna Zacarías and Yoshira Escárrega. The drama is based on Juan Rulfo’s landmark novel and tells of a man as he searches for his father in a town doomed by violence and the fury of a frustrated love.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror thriller Heretic written and directed by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods and starring Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East. The film’s original music is composed by Chris Bacon (Source Code, Wednesday, Bates Motel, Men in Black: International, Gnomeo & Juliet, 65, The Tick) . Warner Music Nashville has released Blake Shelton’s cover of Go Tell It On the Mountain from the movie last month. Gustavo Santaolalla, Juan Luqui, Paco Cabral & Matias Tozolla Scoring Jayson McNamara’s & Andrea Tortonese’s ‘Norita’
Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Last of Us, The Book of Life) has teamed up with Juan Luqui (Wild Life, (Monsterland, Dear Child), Paco Cabral (Diego: The Last Goodbye) and Matias Tozolla (Messenger on a White Horse) to score the upcoming documentary Norita. He also serves as an executive producer on the film directed by Jayson McNamara & Andrea Tortonese and tells the story of Norita Cortiñas who helped found a movement of Argentinian mothers in the 1970s whose children had been “disappeared” by the country’s right-wing military regime and is seen as a fundamental fixture in the movement’s success during the country’s 2020 vote to legalize abortion.
Paloma Baeza’s ‘Three Hares’ to Feature Original Score by Gustavo Santaolalla & Juan Luqui
Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Book of Life) has teamed up with Juan Luqui (Monsterland, Wild Life, Dear Child, The Fight) to score the upcoming animated short Three Hares. The film is directed by Paloma Baeza (Poles Apart), narrated by Jessie Buckley and tells a story of three sisters who must remind mankind to respect the earth to protect their future. Baeza also wrote the screenplay based on an original story by Hanya Yanagihara.

Premiering tomorrow, September 4, is the Comedy Central original movie Office Race co-written and directed by Jared Lapidus and starring Beck Bennett, Joel McHale, Kelsey Grammer, Erinn Hayes, Kylie Bunbury, J.B. Smoove and Alyson Hannigan. Academy Award-nominated and Grammy-Award winning singer/songwriter Bryan Adams has contributed two original songs to the film. Premiering on Wednesday, September 6, is the Netflix documentary series Predators executive produced by Wendy Darke & Vanessa Coates and narrated by Tom Hard about a group of cheetahs, polar bears and more of the planet’s most powerful hunters as they fight against the odds to survive. The show’s original music is composed by Nainita Desai (For Sama, The Deepest Breath, Crossfire, The Tower, Funny Woman, The Reason I Jump). The 5-parter premiered in the UK last December on Sky Nature and will be available to stream in the U.S. and most other major markets exclusively on Netflix.

The 6-part thriller is based on Romy Hausmann’s novel of the same title and centers on woman who escapes a highly secured home, where she has lived for over ten years in complete isolation with two children.
