The show is written and directed by Isabel Kleefeld & Julian Pörksen and stars Kim Riedle, Naila Schuberth, Sammy Schrein, Haley Louise Jones, Hans Löw, Justus von Dohnányi, Birge Schade, Julika Jenkins, Seraphina Maria Schweiger, Christian Beermann, Özgür Karadeniz and Jeanne Goursaud.

‘Wild Life’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the National Geographic documentary Wild Life. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Last of Us, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Book of Life) and Juan Luqui (Monsterland, The Fight). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 26 (click here to stream/download the album). Wild Life is directed by Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo) and chronicles conservationists Kris and Doug Tompkins’ fight to preserve one of the last truly wild places on earth.
Gustavo Santaolalla to Score Rodrigo Prieto’s ‘Pedro Páramo’
Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, The Motorcycle Diaries, Babel, The Book of Life) is set to score the upcoming Mexican Netflix original film Pedro Páramo. The movie marks the directorial debut of Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Irishman) and stars Manuel García-Rulfo in the title role, alongside Tenoch Huerta, Ilse Salas, Mayra Batalla, Roberto Sosa, Héctor Kotsifakis, Dolores Heredia, Noé Hernández, Giovanna Zacarías and Yoshira Escárrega. The drama is based on the novel by Juan Rulfo about a man who travels to his recently deceased mother’s hometown to find his father, only to come across a literal ghost town.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror comedy Renfield directed by Chris McKay and starring Nicholas Hoult, Nicolas Cage, Awkwafina, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Ben Schwartz, Brandon Scott Jones and Adrian Martinez. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, A Quiet Place, Logan, 3:10 to Yuma, Ford v. Ferrari, The Hurt Locker). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 27 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, Finch, The Book of Life) and Juan Luqui (Monsterland, The Fight) have teamed up to score the upcoming documentary Wild Life. The film is directed by Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, The Rescue) and follows conservationist Kris Tompkins who – after falling in love in mid-life – left behind the world of the outdoor brands they had helped pioneer and turned their attention to an effort to create National Parks throughout Chile and Argentina.

Both composer are receiving full and equal “music by” billing (credited separately) in the opening titles sequence of the show developed by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) & Neil Druckmann based on the video game of the same title and starring Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Murray Bartlett, Nico Parker, Nick Offerman, Storm Reid, Merle Dandridge, Melanie Lynskey, Jeffrey Pierce, Keivonn Woodard, Lamar Johnson, Graham Greene and Elaine Miles.
Lin-Manuel Miranda & Germaine Franco Win Annie Award for ‘Encanto’
Lin-Manuel Miranda & Germaine Franco were honored with the Annie Award in the Best Music – Feature category for their music from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto at tonight’s (virtual) 49th Annie Awards ceremony. The other contenders in the category were Dan Romer for Luca, Youki Kojima & Yuta Bandoh for Poupelle of Chimney Town, James Newton Howard & Jhené Aiko for Raya and the Last Dragon and Alex Lacamoire (& Miranda) for Vivo. Franco has previously received an Annie Award as part of the music team of Pixar’s 2017 feature Coco. Miranda’s songs and Franco’s score are now available on the official soundtrack album released by Walt Disney Records.
