The music team of Sony Pictures Animation’s Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters was honored with the Annie Award in the Feature category at tonight’s 53rd Annie Awards ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Sony Pictures’ President of Music Spring Aspers, composer Marcelo Zarvos and songwriter Mark Sonnenblick accepted the award in person at the event. The other contenders in the category were Arnaud Toulon for Arco, Rob Simonsen for Elio, Mari Fukuhara for Little Amélie or the Character of Rain and Shakira, Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin & Michael Giacchino for Zootopia 2.

Daniel Pemberton & Metro Boomin were honored with their first Annie Award in Feature category for their music from Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at tonight’s 51st Annie Awards ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Pemberton composed the movie’s score, while Metro Boomin served as the executive producer of the film’s soundtrack, which was released by Republic Records. Pemberton’s score was released by Sony Classical. Desplat composed the movie’s score and also wrote the songs with lyrics by del Toro, Katz & McHale. The official soundtrack album was released by Columbia Records.

The other contenders in the category were Dan Romer for Luca, Youki Kojima & Yuta Bandoh for Poupelle of Chimney Town, James Newton Howard & Jhené Aiko for Raya and the Last Dragon and Alex Lacamoire (& Miranda) for Vivo. Franco has previously received an Annie Award as part of the music team of Pixar’s 2017 feature Coco.
