Claudia Sarne (Shining Girls, Triple 9, The Book of Eli, Earthquake Bird, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Broken City) has provided the original score for the upcoming National Geographic documentary Lost in the Jungle. The film is directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, Nayad) and Juan Camilo Cruz (In Her Hands) and tells the true story of four young siblings who crash land deep within the Colombian rainforest, and the dramatic rescue mission that unfolds, uniting Indigenous trackers and the military in a race against time. The movie features accounts directly from the children themselves and the rescuers who scoured the Amazon rainforest for a grueling 40 days and nights to find them.

Daniel Pemberton Scoring National Geographic’s ‘Endurance’ Documentary
Composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Enola Holmes, Steve Jobs, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ocean’s 8, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) is reteaming with directors Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, Nyad) on the upcoming documentary Endurance. The film is directed by Vasarhelyi & Chin and Natalie Hewit and centers on the titular ship that sank near Antarctica in 1915, with explorer Ernest Shackleton and his crew miraculously surviving, and was discovered in 2022.
Jade Bird’s & Linda Perry’s Original Song ‘Find a Way’ from Netflix’s ‘Nyad’ Released
Netflix Music has released the original song Find a Way from the biographical drama Nyad. The track written by Linda Perry and performed by Jade Bird is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the song after the jump. A full soundtrack album featuring Alexandre Desplat’s original score from the film is expected to be released later this week. The movie marks the narrative feature directorial debut of documentary filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, The Rescue) and stars Annette Bening, Jodie Foster, Rhys Ifans, Luke Cosgrove, Ethan Jones Romero, Eric T. Miller and Jeena Yi. The biographical drama tells the true story of Diana Nyad who, at the age of 64, became the first person to swim from Cuba to the US without a shark cage.

Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, Finch, The Book of Life) and Juan Luqui (Monsterland, The Fight) have teamed up to score the upcoming documentary Wild Life. The film is directed by Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, The Rescue) and follows conservationist Kris Tompkins who – after falling in love in mid-life – left behind the world of the outdoor brands they had helped pioneer and turned their attention to an effort to create National Parks throughout Chile and Argentina.
‘Return to Space’ Soundtrack Album Details
Maisie Music Publishing will release the official soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary Return to Space. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote, The Good Dinosaur, Little Miss Sunshine, Onward, The Addams Family) & Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Shrek, The Last Duel, Mulan, Kingdom of Heaven, The Equalizer). Also included is Sharon Van Etten’s cover of David Bowie’s Starman as featured during the movie’s end titles sequence. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 8 and will be available to stream/download here. Marco Beltrami is composing the music for the upcoming National Geographic documentary Free Solo. The film is directed by Jimmy Chin & Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi (Meru) and revolves around rock climber Alex Honnold as he is training on Freerider for the first ever rope-free climb of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. Chin & Chai Vasarhelyi are also producing the project with Evan Hayes, Walter Parkes & Laurie MacDonald (Men in Black, The Ring, Flight) and Shannon Dill.
