Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi adventure Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Paesano (The Maze Runner, Daredevil, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Invincible, Cheaper by the Dozen, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again, Truth Be Told). Paesano’s score includes the track Human Hunt, an homage to Jerry Goldsmith’s The Hunt from the 1968’s original Planet of the Apes (listen to the track below). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 10 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. ‘Planet of the Apes’ Original Film Series Soundtrack Collection Announced
La-La Land Records, 20th Century Fox, Fox Music and Varèse Sarabande have announced a new 5-CD Box Set collection featuring the remastered original scores from the original Planet of the Apes film franchise, including the scores from the original 1968 film and 1971’s Escape from the Planet of the Apes composed by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown), 1970’s Beneath the Planet of the Apes and 1973’s Battle for the Planet of the Apes composed by Leonard Rosenman (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, A Man Called Horse) and 1972’s Conquest of the Planet of the Apes composed by Tom Scott (Soul Man).
‘Planet of the Apes’ Television Series Soundtrack Released
La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack release for the Planet of the Apes television series based on the 20th Century Fox sci-fi feature franchise starring Roddy McDowall, Ron Harper and James Naughton. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Enter the Dragon, Rush Hour, Dirty Harry), as well as additional music written by Earle Hagen and Richard LaSalle. The 2-CD set features over 2 hours of music from 9 different episodes of the series. ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi action adventure sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek, Lost, Ratatouille, The Incredibles). The soundtrack will be released on July 8, 2014 by Sony Masterworks and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for audio clips. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves who previously collaborated with Giacchino on Let Me In and Cloverfield and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-McPhee, Enrique Murciano and Kirk Acevedo. The movie takes place a decade after Rise of the Planet of the Apes and follows a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar that is threatened by a band of human survivors. The action adventure will be released nationwide on July 11 by 20th Century Fox.
Michael Giacchino to Score ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’
Michael Giacchino confirmed on Twitter that he will be scoring the upcoming sci-fi sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The film is directed by Matt Reeves who previously collaborated with the composer on Let Me In and Cloverfield. The sequel stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Kodi-Smit McPhee, Keri Russell and Gary Oldman. While no specific plot details have been revealed yet, the film is said to be set 15 years after the events of the 2011 film and follows Caesar who is trying to maintain dominance over his kingdom, and the scientists struggling to survive in San Francisco. Peter Chernin & Dylan Clarke (Oblivion, The Heat) and screenwrites Amanda Silver & Rick Jaffa are producing the project. The original 2011 film featured a score by Patrick Doyle.
Expanded ‘Planet of the Apes’ Score by Danny Elfman Released
La-La Land Records has announced two new limited editon soundtrack albums. First up is an expanded release of the original score from Tim Burton’s 2001 version of Planet of the Apes composed by Danny Elfman. The 3-disc set includes the film version of the score, including source cues and alternates, on two discs, as well as the original 2001 soundtrack album, which includes the Rule the Planet remix by Paul Oakenfold. Patrick Doyle Confirmed to Score Pixar’s ‘Brave’ and ‘Rise of the Apes’
Film Music Reporter has received official confirmation that Patrick Doyle is attached to score the upcoming Pixar animation movie Brave. Pixar’s first fairy tale and first female-driven feature tells the story of an impulsive princess who aims to shed her royal ties and become the world’s first great female archer. It was recenly announced that Kelly Macdonald will be voicing the main character. The film’s voice cast also includes Emma Thompson, Craig Ferguson and Billy Connolly. Brave is directed by Mark Andrews who worked as story supervisor on The Incredibles and Ratatouille. The project marks Doyle’s first collaboration with Pixar. Doyle follows Randy Newman, Thomas Newman and Michael Giacchino as the fourth composer scoring a feature animation film for the studio.
