The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Leonard Rosenman (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Beneath The Planet of the Apes, RoboCop 2,Fantastic Voyage, Lord of the Rings, Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden), as well as alternates and unused tracks. La-La Land Records, 20th Century Fox, Fox Music and Varèse Sarabande have announced a new 5-CD Box Set collection featuring the remastered original scores from the original Planet of the Apes film franchise, including the scores from the original 1968 film and 1971’s Escape from the Planet of the Apes composed by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown), 1970’s Beneath the Planet of the Apes and 1973’s Battle for the Planet of the Apes composed by Leonard Rosenman (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, A Man Called Horse) and 1972’s Conquest of the Planet of the Apes composed by Tom Scott (Soul Man).
‘RoboCop 2’ & ‘Dreamcatcher’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Albums Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced the newest titles in its CD Club series, including a deluxe soundtrack edition for the 1990 action sequel RoboCop 2 directed by Irvin Kershner and starring Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Dan O’Herlihy, Belinda Bauer, Tom Noonan and Gabriel Damon. The album features the expanded original score from the Orion Pictures production composed and conducted by Leonard Rosenman (Beneath The Planet of the Apes, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Fantastic Voyage), including over 40 minutes of previously unreleased music. La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 1991 thriller Dead Again directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring himself, Andy Garcia, Emma Thompson and Robin Williams. The album features the expanded and remastered original score composed by Patrick Doyle (Thor, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Brave, Rise of the Planet of the Apes). Also included are alternates, source cues and two bonus tracks, including an early piano sketch and a synth mock-up. Elmer Bernstein’s ‘Cahill United States Marshal’ Score Released
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the soundtrack for the 1973 western Cahill United States Marshal directed by Andrew V. McLaglen and starring John Wayne, George Kennedy and Gary Grimes. The music is composed and conducted by Elmer Bernstein. The album features the complete score from the film, including an unused cue for the ending, as well as the song A Man Gets to Thinkin’ performed by Charlie Rich, written by Bernstein with lyrics by Don Black. ‘Bound for Glory’ Soundtrack Released
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack CD release for Hal Ashby’s 1976 film Bound for Glory starring David Carradine. The album features the previously unreleased original score from the film composed by Leonard Rosenman (Barry Lyndon), as well as the content of the original 1976 album featuring the tunes of Woody Guthrie, which were adapted for the project by Rosenman who received the Academy Award in the Best Music, Original Song Score and Its Adaptation or Best Adaptation Score category for his work on the film.
