Varese Sarabande has announced the newest titles in its CD Club series, including a deluxe soundtrack edition for the 1990 action sequel RoboCop 2 directed by Irvin Kershner and starring Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Dan O’Herlihy, Belinda Bauer, Tom Noonan and Gabriel Damon. The album features the expanded original score from the Orion Pictures production composed and conducted by Leonard Rosenman (Beneath The Planet of the Apes, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Fantastic Voyage), including over 40 minutes of previously unreleased music. The soundtrack, which is limited to 1,500 copies is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples.
The label has also announced a deluxe soundtrack edition for the 2003 horror thriller Dreamcatcher directed by Lawrence Kasdan and starring Morgan Freeman, Thomas Jane, Jason Lee, Damian Lewis, Timothy Olyphant, Tom Sizemore and Donnie Wahlberg. The album set features the film’s expanded original score composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Maleficent). Also announced today is Varese Sarabande’s latest and final title in its Encore series, a reissue of the soundtrack album for the 1981 drama Raggedy Man starring Sissy Spacek & Eric Roberts featuring music composed by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture).
