John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, The Star) has been tapped to score the upcoming Showtime original series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The show is created by John Logan (Gladiator, Hugo, The Aviator) and stars Daniel Zovatto, Natalie Dormer, Kerry Bishé, Amy Madigan, Brent Spiner, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear, Piper Perabo, Adam Rodriguez, Thomas Kretschmann, Lorenza Izzo, Michael Gladis, Dominic Sherwood, Ethan Peck and Nathan Lane. The spin-off to Penny Dreadful (which aired between 2014 and 2016) is set in 1938 Los Angeles after a grisly murder shocks the city and follows a detective and his partner as they become embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of LA. Logan is also executive producing the project with Michael Aguilar (The Crazies, Kidding).

John Paesano to Score Yuval Adler’s ‘The Secrets We Keep’
John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, Truth Be Told) has signed on to score the upcoming thriller The Secrets We Keep. The film is directed by Yuval Adler (The Operative, Bethlehem) and stars Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Chris Messina and Amy Seimetz. The movie follows a woman who is rebuilding her life in New York after World War II, when she and her husband encounter a man they think could be one of her chief tormentors as she fled from the Nazi occupation in World War II. Ryan Covington wrote the screenplay.
Soundtrack Album for Apple TV+ Series ‘Truth Be Told’ Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Truth Be Told. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, The Defenders, The Star, Almost Christmas). The soundtrack is now available to stream on Apple Music and is expected to be available in other digital music stores next year. Truth Be Told is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and stars Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul, Lizzy Caplan, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Mekhi Phifer, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood and Ron Cephas Jones. The drama follows a podcaster as she comes face to face with the man she may have mistakenly helped to put behind bars.

John Paesano to Score Michael Almereyda’s ‘Tesla’
John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, The Defenders, The Star) has been hired to score the upcoming biographical drama Tesla. The film is written and directed by Michael Almereyda (Marjorie Prime, Experimenter) and stars Ethan Hawke, Eve Hewson, Kyle MacLachlan and Jim Gaffigan. The movie chronicles the life and times of famed inventor Nikola Tesla, including his creation of the AC motor and his fierce rivalry with Thomas Edison. Uri Singer & Isen Robbins (Blue Caprice) are producing the project for Passage Pictures, alongside Christa Campbell (Criminal, Leatherface) & Lati Grobman (Righteous Kill, Intruders) for Campbell Grobman Films.

‘Daredevil’ Season 3 Soundtrack to Be Released
Hollywood Records and Marvel Music will release a new soundtrack album for Marvel’s Netflix original series Daredevil. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by John Paesano (The Maze Runner, The Defenders, Spider-Man video game, Dragons: Riders of Berk, The Star). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 19 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The labels have previously released soundtrack album featuring Paesano’s score from the first two seasons. Daredevil is based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elden Henson, Joanne Whalley, Wilson Bethel and Jay Ali.

‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for Wes Ball’s Maze Runner: The Death Cure have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Defenders, Pacific Rim Uprising, Almost Christmas) who previously scored the first two installments in the series. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 26, 2017 by Sony Classical (click here to pre-order and check out the first track from the release). A CD version is set to come out on February 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Maze Runner: The Death Cure starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, Giancarlo Esposito, Aidan Gillen, Barry Pepper, Will Poulter and Patricia Clarkson follows Thomas and the surviving Gladers as they fight to find a cure for the deadly disease known as The Flare that has wiped out most of the world.
‘The Star’ Score Album to Be Released
Epic Records will release a score album for the animated feature The Star. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, Maze Runner series, Pacific Rim Uprising, The Defenders, All Eyez On Me). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 12 and will be available to download on Amazon. As previously announced, the label has also released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, including the Golden Globe-nominated title track performed by Mariah Carey. The Star is directed by Timothy Reckart and features the voice talent of Steven Yeun, Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Keegan-Michael Key, Kelly Clarkson, Anthony Anderson, Kristin Chenoweth, Tracy Morgan, Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey.
