John Murphy (28 Days Later…, Sunshine, Snatch, Miami Vice, Kick-Ass) has signed on to score the upcoming BBC/PBS Masterpiece mini-series Les Miserables. The show is developed by Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’s Diary, House of Cards, War & Peace) based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and stars Dominic West as Jean Valjean, David Oyelowo as Javert, Lily Collins and Fantine, Adeel Akhtar and Olivia Colman as Monsieur and Madame Thénardier, as well as Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. The 6-part drama delves deep into the layers of Hugo’s story, exploring Valjean and policeman Javert’s cat-and-mouse relationship, against the backdrop of France at a time of civil unrest.

Anne Nikitin has been hired to score the upcoming BBC and PBS Masterpiece mini-series Mrs. Wilson. The show is developed by Anna Symon (Indian Summers) and stars Ruth Wilson, Iain Glenn, Keely Hawes, Anupam Kher and Fiona Shaw. The 3-part drama directed by Richard Laxton is set in 1940s and 1960s London and 1930s India and follows Alison Wilson, who thinks she is happily married until her husband dies and a woman turns up on the doorstep claiming that she is the real Mrs. Wilson.

Natalie Holt has been hired to score the upcoming BBC drama Press. The show is created by Mike Bartlett (Doctor Foster, King Charles III) and stars Charlotte Riley, Ben Chaplin, Priyanga Burford, Paapa Essiedu, Shane Zaza, Ellie Kendrick, Al Weaver, Brendan Cowell and David Suchet. The series centers on the news editor of a broadsheet and the editor of a tabloid newspaper, The Post and follows their lives as they attempt to balance work and play, ambition and integrity, amid the pressure of the 24-hour global news cycle and an industry in turmoil.

‘Call the Midwife’ Seasons 4-7 Soundtrack to Be Released
A new soundtrack album will be released for the BBC drama Call the Midwife. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh season composed by Maurizio Malagnini (The Paradise, The C Word, Peter & Wendy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 27 and physically in May. Visit Amazon to download the album. DMG TV has previously released two soundtrack albums featuring music from the first two seasons and the 2012/2013 Christmas specials. Call the Midwife created by Heidi Thomas (Cranford) and starring Jenny Agutter, Pam Ferris, Miranda Hart, Judy Parfitt, Helen George, Bryony Hannah and Laura Main follows a group of nurse midwives working in the East End of London in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
