Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein directed by Zelda Williams and starring Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Carla Gugino, Joe Chrest, Liza Soberano and Henry Eikenberry. The film’s original score is composed by Isabella Summers (Little Fires Everywhere, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Offer, Call Jane, Sex/Life). Opening semi-wide in around 550 theaters is the British horror thriller Out of Darkness directed by Andrew Cumming and starring Chuku Modu, Safia Oakley-Green, Iola Evans, Kit Young, Luna Mwezi and Arno Lüning. Adam Janota Bzowski (Saint Maud, Black Mirror: Loch Henry, The Marsh King’s Daughter, Here Before) has composed the film’s original music. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Soundtrack Albums for Netflix’s ‘Hilda’ Released

Madison Gate Records has released two soundtrack albums for the Netflix animated series Hilda. The album features the songs (including Grimes’ main title theme) and selections of the score from the first two seasons of the show. Dan Mangan (Hector and the Search for Happiness) and Ryan Carlson (Abby Hatcher, Fuzzly Catcher) composed the music for the first season and Carlson scored the second season. The label has previously released Carlson’s score from the feature Hilda and the Mountain King earlier this year.

Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the British mini-series Mrs. Wilson developed by Anna Symon, directed by Richard Laxton and starring Ruth Wilson, Iain Glenn, Keely Hawes, Anupam Kher and Fiona Shaw. The show’s original music is composed by Anne Nikitin (American Animals, Calibre, This Beautiful Fantastic, The Imposter). Check out our previous news article and PBS’ official show website to learn more about the drama, which premiered in the UK last year on BBC and is making its debut stateside as part of PBS’ Masterpiece series.

Premiering tomorrow, April 1, is the CBS All Access original series The Twilight Zone based on the 1959 classic TV series created by Rod Sterling, hosted and produced by Jordan Peele and staring Ike Barinholtz, John Cho, Taissa Farmiga, Ginnifer Goodwin, Greg Kinnear, Kumail Nanjiani, Adam Scott, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay and Steven Yeun. Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma) & Brandon Roberts (TURN: Washington’s Spies, The Woman in Black 2) are composing the show’s original music. Netflix’s ‘Hilda’ to Feature Theme Song by Grimes & Score by Dan Mangan & Ryan Carlson

Grimes has written the theme song for the new Netflix animated series Hilda. The track, which also features vocals by the singer/songwriter, opens every episode of the show’s first season. Dan Mangan (Hector and the Search for Happiness) has composed the underscore for several episodes, as well as the end titles theme of the show. The other episodes are scored by Ryan Carlson for Vapor RMW. Hilda is created by Luke Pearson based on his comic book series and features the voices of Bella Ramsey as the title character, as well as Ameerah Falzon-Ojo, Oliver Nelson, Daisy Haggard and Rasmus Hardiker.

‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’ Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the comedy drama Hector and the Search for Happiness. The album features the film’s original score composed by singer/songwriter Dan Mangan and violinist Jesse Zubot. Also included is the original song Vessel performed by Mangan + Blacksmith, as well as other songs featured in the film performed by such artists as Parov Stelar, Ted Lewis & His Orchestra and more. The soundtrack will be released on November 10, 2014. Hector and the Search for Happiness is directed by Peter Chelsom and stars Simon Pegg, Toni Collette, Rosamund Pike, Stellan Skarsgård, Jean Reno and Christopher Plummer.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of the YA novel The Maze Runner directed by Wes Ball and starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Aml Ameen and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The film’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Dragons: Riders of Berk, When the Game Stands Tall, Crisis). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the is the thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones directed by Scott Frank and starring Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, David Harbour and Boyd Holbrook.
