Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC and Netflix limited series A Suitable Boy. The album features the show’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Queen of Katwe, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, 11.22.63, Touching the Void) and Anoushka Shankar. Also included are songs performed by Kavita Seth and other music from the drama. The soundtrack will be released overseas digitally tomorrow, October 23. A CD version is also in the works. The purchase links will be added to this article soon. A Suitable Boy is directed by Mira Nair, written by Andrew Davies and stars Tabu, Ishaan Khatter, Tanya Maniktala and Mahira Kakkar. The 6-parter is based on Vikram Seth’s 1993 novel of the same name and centers on a young woman in post-partition India who struggles to balance family duty and personal independence.

The show is developed by Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’ Diary, War & Peace, Les Misérables) based on Vikram Seth’s classic novel of the same title and stars Tabu, Tanya Maniktala and Ishaan Khatter. The 6-parter is directed by Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding, Vanity Fair, The Namesake) tells the story of a spirited university student who is coming of age in North India in 1951 at the same time as the country is carving out its own identity as an independent nation.

Ruth Barrett is scoring the upcoming ITV and PBS Masterpiece series Sanditon. The show is developed by Andrew Davies (War & Peace, Les Miserables) based on Jane Austen’s novel of the same title and stars Rose Williams, Theo James, Anne Reid, Kris Marshall, Kate Ashfield, Jack Fox, Charlotte Spencer, Lily Sacofsky and Adrian Scarborough. John Murphy to Score BBC’s ‘Les Miserables’ Mini-Series
John Murphy (28 Days Later…, Sunshine, Snatch, Miami Vice, Kick-Ass) has signed on to score the upcoming BBC/PBS Masterpiece mini-series Les Miserables. The show is developed by Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’s Diary, House of Cards, War & Peace) based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and stars Dominic West as Jean Valjean, David Oyelowo as Javert, Lily Collins and Fantine, Adeel Akhtar and Olivia Colman as Monsieur and Madame Thénardier, as well as Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. The 6-part drama delves deep into the layers of Hugo’s story, exploring Valjean and policeman Javert’s cat-and-mouse relationship, against the backdrop of France at a time of civil unrest.
