WaterTower Music will release the first soundtrack album for the fantasy series Lucifer. The album features the musical performances from the show’s first five seasons performed by actors Tom Ellis, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Lauren German, as well as Skye Townsend and produced by the series’ composers Jeff Russo & Ben Decter. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 21 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. Lucifer is developed by Tom Kapinos based on the DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kiet & Mike Dringenberg and also stars Kevin Alejandro, D. B. Woodside, Rachael Harris and Aimee Garcia. The series follows the title character bored with being the Lord of Hell, as he relocates to Los Angeles, where he opens a nightclub and forms a connection with a homicide detective.

Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the mini-series Les Miserables developed by Andrew Davies based on Victor Hugo’s novel and starring Dominic West, David Oyelowo, Lily Collins, Adeel Akhtar, Olivia Colman, Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. The show’s original music is composed by John Murphy (28 Days Later, Sunshine, Miami Vice, Snatch). Premiering tomorrow, April 15 is the Netflix original series No Good Nick created by David H. Chris Alan Lee (Younger, Heathers, Uncle Buck) has composed the original music for the show’s first season. ABC’s ‘Bless This Mess’ to Feature Original Score by Ben Decter
Ben Decter is composing the original score for the new ABC comedy Bless This Mess. The show is created by Lake Bell (In a World…) & Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl, Single Parents) and stars Bell herself, alongside Dax Shepard, Ed Begley Jr., Pam Grier and JT Neal. The series follows two newlyweds as they make the decision to move from big city New York to rural Nebraska and must learn how to weather the storm as they are faced with unexpected challenges in their new life as farmers.

Premiering on Wednesday, December 7, is the NBC television event Hairspray LIVE! based on the Broadway musical and starring Maddie Baillio, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Harvey Fierstein, Ariana Grande, Garrett Clayton, Derek Hough, Jennifer Hudson, Martin Short, Ephraim Sykes and Shahadi Wright Joseph. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the special’s song written by Marc Shaiman (A Few Good Men, The Bucket List) and Scott Wittman (Smash, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and performed by the cast. Ben Decter and Jeff Russo are the new composers of the Fox drama Lucifer. The show developed by Tom Kapinos based on the DC Comics characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth & Mike Dringenberg stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro and Scarlett Estevez. The series revolves around the Lord of Hell who helps the LAPD punish criminals. Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean series, Top Gun, National Treasure) is executive producing the project with Jonathan Littman (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Ildy Modrovich, Joe Henderson, Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) and KristieAnne Reed.

Hulu’s ‘Shut Eye’ to Feature Music by Ben Decter
Ben Decter has signed on to compose the music for the upcoming Hulu original series Shut Eye. The show is created by Les Bohem and stars Jeffrey Donovan, KaDee Strickland, Isabella Rosselini, David Zayas, Susan Misner and Emmanuelle Chriqui. The drama is set in the world of storefront psychics in Los Angeles and centers on a disgruntled former player in the world who begins to experience visions. Bohem is also executive producing the TriStar Television production with Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Notebook) and Melissa Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul).

Ben Decter has been hired to score the upcoming ABC Family original series Shadowhunters. The show is based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and follows an 18-year-old girl who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. The Constantin Film production stars Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, David Castro and Harry Shum Jr.
