Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the TV Land original series Younger. The album features a selection of songs from the show performed by artists such as Lykke Li, Ingrid Michaelson, Leon Bridges, Gemma Hayes, Zayde Wølf, Berlin & others, as well as previously unreleased tracks by series composer Chris Alan Lee (feat. Anna Dellaria) and stars Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff & Miriam Shor. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. A vinyl edition is set to be released on August 20 and will be available to pre-order on Amazon soon. Younger is created by Darren Star based on the novel of the same title by Pamela Redmond Satran and stars Foster, Debi Mazar, Duff, Shor, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann, Molly Bernard and Charles Michael Davis.

Premiering today is the mini-series The Kennedys – After Camelot starring Katie Holmes, Matthew Perry, Alexander Siddig, Kristen Hager, Brett Donahue, Diana Hardcastle and Kristin Booth. The 2-parter’s original music is composed by Jamie Forsyth (Bones). The drama is the sequel to the 2011 mini-series The Kennedys, which was co-scored by Sean Callery, and centers on the life of the former First Lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy in the aftermath of the assassination of her husband. Premiering tomorrow in the U.S. is the British mini-series The Great Train Robbery written by Chris Chibnall, directed by Julian Jarrold & James Strong and starring Luke Evans, Jack Roth, Neil Maskell, Paul Anderson, Martin Compston,Del Synnott and Jack Gordon. Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, The Musketeers) has composed the 2-parter’s original music. Premiering tomorrow, April 4, is the HBO original movie Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures directed by Fenton Bailey & Randy Barbato. The film’s original music is composed by David Benjamin Steinberg. The documentary centers on Robert Mapplethorpe and profiles the controversial artist from early childhood, to his beginnings in NYC and his meteoric rise in the art world, to his untimely death in 1989. Premiering on Tuesday, January 12, is the new Freeform/ABC Family original series Shadowhunters based on the young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments and starring Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, David Castro and Harry Shum Jr. The show’s original music is composed by Ben Decter (CSI: Cyber, Hostages, Extant). Premiering on Wednesday, January 13, is the new Fox drama Second Chance created by Rand Ravich, produced by Howard Gordon and starring Rob Kazinsky, Dilshad Vadsaria, Adhir Kalyan, Tim DeKay and Ciara Bravo. John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Where the Game Stands Tall, Dragons: Riders of Berk) is composing the show’s original music. Joshua Funk Scoring TV Land’s ‘Teachers’
Joshua Funk is scoring the upcoming TV Land original series Teachers. The show is based on the web series of the same title and stars the improv group the Katydids – Caitlin Barlow, Katy Colloton, Cate Freedman, Kate Lambert, Katie O’Brien and Katie Thomas. The comedy follows six elementary school teachers who try to mold young minds, even though they don’t really seem to have their own lives together at all. Alison Brie (Community) is executive producing the project with showrunners Ian Roberts & Jay Martel (Get Hard, Key and Peele), as well as Matt Miller. Funk is best known for composing the music for Comedy Central’s Key and Peele, for which he received an Emmy Award nomination in 2014.

Premiering on Wednesday, July 15 is the TV Land original series The Jim Gaffigan Show created by Gaffigan who also stars in the show alongside Ashley Williams, Adam Goldberg and Michael Ian Black. The show’s original music is composed by Chris Alan Lee (Younger, Mulaney, Better Off Ted). The comedy is inspired by Gaffigan’s real life and chronicles one man’s struggle in New York City to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy and an insatiable appetite. Premiering tonight is the National Geographic Channel original movie Killing Jesus directed by Christopher Menaul and stars Kelsey Grammer, Stephen Moyer, Emmanuelle Chriqui, John Rhys Davies, Rufus Sewell, Eoin Macken, Aneurin Barnard, Vernon Dobtcheff, Tamsin Egerton and John Lynch. The film’s original music is composed by Emmy Award winner Trevor Morris (The Tudors, The Borgias, Vikings, Immortals, Olympus Has Fallen). The 3-hour TV event is based on the best-selling book by Bill O’Reilly and chronicles the life of Jesus of Nazareth through the retelling of the political, social and historical conflicts during the Roman Empire. Premiering on Wednesday, December 4, is the new TNT original series Mob City created by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Walking Dead) and starring Jon Bernthal, Ed Burns, Neal McDonough and Jeremy Luke. The drama’s original score is composed by Mark Isham (Once Upon a Time, Crash) who has previously collaborated with Darabont on the features The Majestic and The Mist. The show is based on the real-life accounts of the cops and gangsters of Los Angeles in the 1940s and tells the story of the violent crime underbelly of America’s most glamorous city and those who wanted to control it. In our sixth and final part of our fall television series, we are taking a look at the major new shows on the cable networks:
One of this fall’s most talked about new shows is American Horror Story created by Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchuk and starring Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga and Denis O’Hare. The series has recently received two Golden Globe nominations for Best TV Drama and for Lange’s performance. The show’s score is composed by James Levine who has worked on most of Murphy’s projects in the last decade, including Nip/Tuck, Glee and the feature film Running with Scissors. The drama has also been using a lot of pre-existing score music from composers such as Bernard Herrmann and Alan Silvestri.
