Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original documentary Power. The album features the film’s original music composed by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Candyman, Master, Telemarketers, Grasshopper Republic). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 17. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the album and listen to a track (Pathway to Power) from the composer’s score below. Power is co-written and directed by Yance Ford and traces the accumulation of money, the consolidation of political power, and the nearly unrestricted bipartisan support that has created the institution of policing as we know it. The movie uses historical materials, including interviews and archival collage, to illustrate our contemporary realities and examines urgent questions about a growing and largely unchecked authority.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (May 10, 2024)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi adventure Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes directed by Wes Ball and starring Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, William H. Macy and Peter Macon. The film’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Cheaper by the Dozen, Invincible, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Truth Be Told). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the comedy Not Another Church Movie written and directed by Johnny Mack and starring Kevin Daniels, Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox, Kyla Pratt, Tisha Campbell, Jasmine Guy, Lamorne Morris, Luc Ashley, Buddy Lewis, T’Shaun Barret and Mickey Rourke. Ainz “Brainz” Prasad (Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!) and Ameya Saraf have composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a billionaire talk show host who uses her direct connection to God to demand he deliver a hero to help her plummeting ratings, is being released by Briarcliff Entertainment.
50 Cent’s ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Theme Song ‘Power Powder Respect’ Released
G-Unit Records has released the theme song from the upcoming Starz original series Power Book IV: Force. The track. entitled Power Powder Respect, performed by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson feat. G-Unit Records has released the theme song for the upcoming Starz original series Power Book III: Raising Kanan. The track is performed by 50 Cent (who serves as an executive producer on the show) feat. NLE Choppa & Rileyy Lanez. The track is now available to stream/download as a digital single here. Also check out the official music video after the jump. Power Book III: Raising Kanan is created by Sascha Penn and stars Mekai Curtis, Patina Miller, Omar Epps, Lovie Simone and Hailey Kilgore. The drama, which explores the early life of Power character Kanan Stark (portrayed by 50 Cent in the original series), will premiere this summer on Starz.

Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Picard, Legion, The Umbrella Academy, The Night Of) is composing the original score for the new Starz original series Power Book II: Ghost. The show is created by Courtney A. Kemp and stars Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Mary J. Blige, Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Daniel Bellomy, Paige Hurd,” Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Melanie Liburd, Justin Marcel McManus, Woody McClain, Lovell Adams-Gray and LaToya Tonodeo. The drama is a spin-off of Starz’s Power, which premiered between 2014 and 2019, and picks up shortly after the events of the original series as Tariq St. Patrick grapples with a new world order: his father dead and his mother facing charges for the murder her son committed.

The track, which is entitled Big Rich Town and was created specifically for the show, has been released today and is now available to download on Amazon. The song is performed by 50 Cent who serves as an executive producer on the series and also features vocals of Grammy Award-nominated R&B singer Joe. Jeff Russo is composing the score for the upcoming Starz original series Power. The show is created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife) and stars Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren, Naturi Naughton and Joseph Sikora. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has been cast in a reocurring role and also serves as an executive producer. Victor Garber and Sonya Walger have also recently joined the cast. The drama follows a wealthy New York City nightclub owner who is living a double life. When he is not in the club, he is the kingpin of the most lucrative drug network in New York for a very high-level clientele. Agboh is also executive producing the CBS Television production with Mark Canton (300, Immortals, 300: Rise of an Empire), Randall Emmett (End of Watch, Lone Survivor) and David Knoller (Big Love, Carnivàle). The first season of eight episodes is set to premiere this summer on Starz.
