The film is written and directed by Vera Miao and stars Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong, Jimmy O. Yang, Fiona Fu and Aria Kim. The movie tells the story of a grieving young girl who moves to an isolated house with her mother and grandmother after the death of her father, only to discover there is something monstrous hidden in the town’s history and the woods behind their new home.

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Candyman, Master, Telemarketers, Power, Union, Grasshopper Republic) is scoring the upcoming thriller The Man in My Basement. The film is directed by Nadia Latif and stars Corey Hawkins, Willem Dafoe and Anna Diop. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Walter Mosley (Devil in a Blue Dress, Snowfall) and follows a down on his luck man who agrees to rent his basement to a mysterious stranger, unaware he may be letting in a force much darker than he imagined. Mosley & Latif also co-wrote the screenplay.

Soundtrack Album for Netflix Documentary ‘Power’ to Be Released
Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original documentary Power. The album features the film’s original music composed by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Candyman, Master, Telemarketers, Grasshopper Republic). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 17. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the album and listen to a track (Pathway to Power) from the composer’s score below. Power is co-written and directed by Yance Ford and traces the accumulation of money, the consolidation of political power, and the nearly unrestricted bipartisan support that has created the institution of policing as we know it. The movie uses historical materials, including interviews and archival collage, to illustrate our contemporary realities and examines urgent questions about a growing and largely unchecked authority.

‘Grasshopper Republic’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Invada Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Grasshopper Republic. The album features the film’s original music composed by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Candyman, Telemarketers, Master). The soundtrack will be released digitally (click here to stream/download) and on vinyl on November 17. A first track (Daylight) is already available to stream/download now and can also be checked out after the jump. Grasshopper Republic is directed by Daniel McCabe and follows a local grasshopper trapping team in verité style, as these modern-day prospectors push into remote forests seeking their fortune by capturing this elusive prey.

Invada Records has released a soundtrack album for the HBO original documentary series Telemarketers. The album features the show’s original music composed by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Candyman, Master). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A CD and vinyl edition is also in the works. Telemarketers is directed by Adam Bhala Lough & Sam Lipman-Stern chronicles the 20-year journey of two unlikely office buddies who stumble upon the truth behind the work they’ve been doing at a New Jersey call center – persuading people to give money to charities – and vow to expose the crooked American telemarketing industry from within.
