Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Candyman, Master, Telemarketers, Power, Union, Grasshopper Republic) is scoring the upcoming thriller The Man in My Basement. The film is directed by Nadia Latif and stars Corey Hawkins, Willem Dafoe and Anna Diop. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Walter Mosley (Devil in a Blue Dress, Snowfall) and follows a down on his luck man who agrees to rent his basement to a mysterious stranger, unaware he may be letting in a force much darker than he imagined. Mosley & Latif also co-wrote the screenplay. Diane Houslin (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey), John Giwa-Amu (Don’t Knock Twice, The Machine), Dave Bishop and Len Rowles are producing the Protagonist Pictures, Good Gate Media and B.O.B. Filmhouse production. The Man in My Basement will premiere later this year on Hulu and will also be released in select theaters.
The composer’s other recent projects include the documentaries Seeds (directed by Brittany Shyne) and Life After (directed by Reid Davenport), both of which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and are currently awaiting release dates.
