Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action/horror comedy They Will Kill You co-written and directed by Kirill Sokolov and starring Zazie Beetz, Myha’La, Tom Felton, Paterson Joseph, Heather Graham and Patricia Arquette. The film’s original music is composed by Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s Gambit, Hacks, Lessons in Chemistry, Godless, A Walk Among the Tombstones, Dept. Q, Ezra, Griselda, Chupa, Just Beyond). Waxwork Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. Check out our previous news article for the full album details and to learn more about the Warner Bros. Also opening wide is the horror comedy Forbidden Fruits co-written and directed by Meredith Alloway and starring Lili Reinhart, Victoria Pedretti, Lola Tung, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain and Gabrielle Union. Anna Drubich (Barbarian, Fear Street Part 3: 1666, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Werewolves Within, Sting, Time Cut) has composed the film’s original music. Waxwork Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. ‘Pike River’ Soundtrack Album Released

Karl Sölve Steven (Come to Daddy, Uproar, The Justice of Bunny King, Bookworm, The Girl on the Bridge, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!) has released a soundtrack album for the New Zealand drama Pike River. The album features the composer’s original music from the film and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to Steven’s first track (Eurydice) below. Pike River is directed by Robert Sarkies and stars Melanie Lynskey, Robyn Malcolm and Lucy Lawless. The movie tells the true story of two women whose friendship empowered them to fight for justice after the Pike River Mine Tragedy took the lives of twenty-nine men underground.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the first part of the film adaptation of the stage musical Wicked directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater and Keala Settle. The film’s original score is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Happy Feet, Solo: A Star Wars Story) & Stephen Schwartz (The Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas). Republic Records & Verve Label Group have released a soundtrack album featuring the Schwartz-penned songs from the movie today. A separate album featuring the score will be coming out on December 6. Also opening wide is the historical action epic Gladiator II directed by Ridley Scott and starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Denzel Washington, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi and Connie Nielsen. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Shrek, Kingdom of Heaven, The Last Duel, The Gilded Age, Spy Game) has composed the film’s original music. Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. ‘Never Look Away’ Soundtrack Album Released

Heard & Seen has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Never Look Away. The album features the film’s original music composed by Karl Sölve Steven (Come to Daddy, Bookworm, The Justice of Bunny King, The Girl on the Bridge, Uproar, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!)  and Jason Smith (The Nuclear Comeback). Never Look Away is directed by actress Lucy Lawless and centers on New Zealand–born groundbreaking CNN camerawoman Margaret Moth who risks it all to show the reality of war from inside the conflict, staring down danger and confronting those who perpetuate it.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror sequel Smile 2 written and directed by Parker Finn and starring Naomi Scott, Kyle Gallner, Rosemarie DeWitt, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Raúl Castillo, Lukas Gage, Ray Nicholson and Dylan Gelula. The film’s original score is composed by Cristobal Tapia de Veer (The White Lotus, Utopia, The Third Day, The Girl with All the Gifts) who previously scored the 2022 original movie. Interscope Records has released a soundtrack EP featuring the original songs from the movie performed by Scott (as her character Skye Riley) last Friday. A separate score album is expected to be coming out next week. Also opening nationwide is the comedy Goodrich written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer and starring Michael Keaton, Mila Kunis, Lauren Benanti, Carmen Ejogo, Kevin Pollak, Michael Urie, Danny Deferrari, Nico Haraga, Viven Lyra Blair and Andie MacDowell. Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Veep, Schmigadoon!,The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, Old Dads) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. ‘Bookworm’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Karl Sölve Steven (Come to Daddy, The Justice of Bunny King, Uproar, The Girl on the Bridge, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!) will release a soundtrack album for the New Zealand adventure comedy Bookworm. The album features the composer’s original score from the film and will be released digitally on August 29. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the soundtrack. Steven’s main theme (which features musician Molly Lewis contributing her otherworldly whistling) is already available to stream/download now and can also be checked out after the jump. Bookworm is co-written and directed by Ant Timpson and stars Elijah Wood, Nell Fisher, Michael Smiley, Morgana O’Reilly, Vanessa Stacey, Nikki Si’ulepa and Theo Shakes. The movie tells the story of a washed-up American illusionist and his long-estranged precocious daughter, who in the midst of a family crisis, venture into the New Zealand wilderness in search of a mythical black panther.

Karl Sölve Steven (Come to Daddy, The Justice of Bunny King, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!, The Girl on the Bridge, Black Hands) has released a soundtrack album for the New Zealand comedy drama Uproar. The album features the composer’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on Apple Music/iTunes and most other major digital music platforms. Uproar is directed by Paul Middleditch & Hamish Bennett and stars Julian Dennison, Rhys Darby, James Rolleston, Erana James and Minnie Driver. The movie is set in 1981, when the arrival of the South African rugby team sets off nationwide protests against apartheid and racism, and revolves around a 17 year-old teenager of mixed race who is forced to stand up for himself, his family and his future.
