Netflix Music has released the cover of version of Caetano Veloso’s song Força Estranha from the Brazilian Netflix original series Habeas Corpus. The track produced by the show’s co-composer Gabriel Ferreira and performed by Any Gabrielly is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Weekly Film Music Roundup (November 22, 2024)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the first part of the film adaptation of the stage musical Wicked directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater and Keala Settle. The film’s original score is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Happy Feet, Solo: A Star Wars Story) & Stephen Schwartz (The Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas). Republic Records & Verve Label Group have released a soundtrack album featuring the Schwartz-penned songs from the movie today. A separate album featuring the score will be coming out on December 6. Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the biographical/historical drama Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin. The album features the film’s original score composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Nine Days, McFarland, USA, Shot Caller, Lord of War, Self/Less) and Gabriel Ferreira (Dom, Pele). Soundtrack Album for Prime Video’s ‘Dom’ Released
Amazon Content Services has released the first soundtrack album for the Brazilian Prime Video original series Dom. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Senna, Nine Days, Lord of War, Amy, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) and Gabriel Ferreira (Pele). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. Dom is inspired by the true story of a father and son on opposite sides of the war on drugs in Rio de Janeiro and stars Gabriel Leone, Flavio Tolezani, Filipe Bragança, Raquel Villar, Ramon Francisco, Isabella Santoni, Digão Ribeiro, Julia Konrad, Fabio Lago and André Mattos. The crime drama follows the titular handsome boy from Rio’s middle class who is introduced to cocaine in his teen years, putting him on the path to becoming a criminal gang’s leader.

Antonio Pinto, Gabriel Ferreira & Felipe Kim Scoring Netflix Documentary ‘Pelé’
Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Amy, Lord of War, Senna, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind), Gabriel Ferreira & Felipe Kim (The Mechanism) have composed the original score for the new Netflix original documentary Pelé. The film is directed by David Tryhorn & Ben Nicholas and tells the story of iconic footballer Pelé, his quest for perfection and the mythical status he attained. The movie, which features interviews with Pelé himself, Zagallo, Rivellino, Juca Kfouri & Gilberto Gil, looks back at the extraordinary 12-year period in which the football player, the only man to win three World Cup titles, went from young superstar in 1958 to national hero in 1970.
