Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the The United States vs. Billie Holiday. The album features the film’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (Green Book, Bridgerton, Mrs. America, When They See Us, Dear White People, Bad Hair). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 19 and will be available to stream/download here. Warner Records has previously released a separate oundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. The United States vs. Billie Holiday is directed by and stars Andra Day who received an Academy Award nomination for her lead performance last week, as well as Trevante Rhodes, Garrett Hedlund, Natasha Lyonne, Rob Morgan, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Miss Lawrence, Tone Bell and Erik LaRay Harvey.

Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, February 22, is the HBO Europe original series Beartown (Björnstad) created by Anders Weidemann, Antonia Pyk & Linn Gottfridsson based on the Fredrik Backman’s novel of the same title and starring Ulf Stenberg and Aliette Opheim. Johan Testad (The Sandhamn Murders, Inkognito, Drifters) has composed the show’s original music. Music Super Circus has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the series premiered in Scandinavia. The full details of the soundtrack album for the biographical drama The United States vs. Billie Holiday have been revealed. The album features the Billie Holiday songs from the film performed by lead actress Andra Day. Also included are the original songs Tigress & Tweed co-written by Day & Raphael Saadiq (already available as a digital single now) & Break Your Fall written by Warren Oak Felder & Coleridge Tillman, as well as The Devil and I Got Up to Dance a Slow Dance performed by Charlie Wilson and co-written by himself, Jamie Hartman, Felder & Tillmann. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 19 by Warner Records and is now available for pre-order here. A CD version will be coming out on March 12 and is available to order on Amazon.

Warner Records has released the original song Tigress & Tweed from the biographical drama The United States vs. Billie Holiday. The track is performed by lead actress Andra Day who also co-wrote it with composer, singer/songwriter and record producer Raphael Saadiq (Lovecraft Country, Underground, Insecure). The song is now available as a digital single on Amazon and all other major digital music platforms and can also be checked out after the jump. The label has previously released Day’s covers of Holiday’s All of Me and Strange Fruit from the film.

Kris Bowers (Green Book, Dear White People, Mrs. America, When They See Us) is the composer of the new Netflix original series Bridgerton. The show is created by Chris Van Dusen and stars Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker, Nicola Coughlan, Sabrina Bartlett, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Ruth Gemmell, Bessie Carter, Harriet Cains, as well as Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown. The drama is inspired by Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels and revolves around the eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family as they look for love and happiness in London high society.

The movie is inspired by by Johann Hari’s 2015 New York Time bestseller Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs and centers on jazz singer Billie Holiday during her career as she is targeted by the Federal Department of Narcotics with an undercover sting operation. Suzan-Lori Parks (Genius: Aretha, Girl 6) wrote the screenplay.

The movie is inspired by the 2015 New York Time bestseller Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs and will follow the jazz singer during her career as she is targeted by the Federal Department of Narcotics with an undercover sting operation.
