Stanphill) is produced by Warryn Campbell, performed by the movie’s lead actress Andra Day and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the The United States vs. Billie Holiday. The album features the film’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (Green Book, Bridgerton, Mrs. America, When They See Us, Dear White People, Bad Hair). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 19 and will be available to stream/download here. Warner Records has previously released a separate oundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. The United States vs. Billie Holiday is directed by and stars Andra Day who received an Academy Award nomination for her lead performance last week, as well as Trevante Rhodes, Garrett Hedlund, Natasha Lyonne, Rob Morgan, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Miss Lawrence, Tone Bell and Erik LaRay Harvey.

Also included are the original songs Tigress & Tweed co-written by Day & Raphael Saadiq (already available as a digital single now) & Break Your Fall written by Warren Oak Felder & Coleridge Tillman, as well as The Devil and I Got Up to Dance a Slow Dance performed by Charlie Wilson and co-written by himself, Jamie Hartman, Felder & Tillmann. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 19 by Warner Records and is now available for pre-order here. A CD version will be coming out on March 12 and is available to order on Amazon.

The film is directed by Lee Daniels (Precious, The Butler, Empire) and stars Andra Day in the title role of Billie Holiday, alongside Trevante Rhodes, Garrett Hedlund and Natasha Lyonne. The movie is inspired by the 2015 New York Time bestseller Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs and will follow the jazz singer during her career as she is targeted by the Federal Department of Narcotics with an undercover sting operation.

James Levine is composing the original score for the new Fox drama Star. The show is created by Lee Daniels (Empire, The Butler, Precious) & Tom Donaghy (The Whole Truth) and stars Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady. The series revolves around three talented singers, desperate for a new start and with ambitions of stardom, as they navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success. Daniels and Donaghy are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Charles Murray (Luke Cage), Pamela Oas Williams (Lee Daniels’ The Butler) and Effie Brown (Dear White People).
