Jeff Russo and Ben Decter are the new composers of the CBS series Extant. The show is created by Mickey Fisher and stars Halle Berry, Goran Visnjic, Pierce Gagnon, Camryn Manheim and Grace Gummer. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has also joined the cast of season 2. The show follows a female astronaut who discovers she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction, and that she and a mysterious stranger may be the only hope for survival. The first season of the Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios production was scored by Marcelo Zarvos.

Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy The Last Man on Earth created by and starring Will Forte and executive produced by Chris Miller & Phil Lord and Seth Cohen. Mark Mothersbaugh (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) is composing the show’s original music. The Last Man on Earth is set in the year 2022 and follows a man who searches the entire United States for any signs of other living humans after an unknown event wipes out the entire population of Earth. Also premiering tonight is the new ABC drama Secrets and Lies created by Barbie Kligman based on the Australian mini-series created by Stephen Irwin and starring Ryan Phillippe, Juliette Lewis, KaDee Strickland, Natalie Martinez, Dan Fogler, Indiana Evans and Belle Shouse. The show’s original music is composed by Matteo Zingales. Secrets and Lies follows a man who stumbles across the dead body of his neighbor’s young son whilefor a jog, only to find himself accused of being the murderer. Jeff Russo & Ben Decter to Score ‘CSI: Cyber’
Jeff Russo and Ben Decter have been tapped to score the upcoming CBS drama CSI: Cyber. The show is created by Anthony E. Zuiker, Carol Mendelsohn & Ann Donahue (CSI: Miami, CSI: NY) and stars Patricia Arquette, James Van Der Beek, Charley Koontz and Peter MacNicol. The series centers around Special Agent Avery Ryan who heads the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI, a unit at the forefront of solving illegal activities that start in the mind, live online and play out in the real world. The character was introduced earlier this year on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Jeff Russo and Ben Decter to Score CBS’ ‘Hostages’
Jeff Russo and Ben Decter are scoring the upcoming serialized CBS drama Hostages. The show is created by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (Traitor, writer of The Day After Tomorrow) and stars Toni Collette as a premiere surgeon who is thrust into a chilling political conspiracy when her family is taken hostage by rogue FBI Agent, played by Dylan McDermott, who orders her to assassinate the President when she operates on him. Tate Donovan, Rhys Coiro, Billy Brown, Sandrine Holt, James Naughton, Quinn Shephard and Mateus Ward are co-starring. Nachmanoff has also directed the pilot episode and is executive producing the Warner Bros Television production with Jerry Bruckheimer & Jonathan Littman (CSI, Without a Trace), Omri Givon, Rotem Shamir and Chayim Sharir.
