Composer David Schwartz (Arrested Development, Northern Exposure, Lucy & Desi, Veep, Standing Up, Falling Down, Lady Dynamite) is reuniting with writer/producer Mike Schur on the new Netflix original series A Man on the Inside. The show is created by Schur (Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and stars Ted Danson, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephanie Beatriz, Margaret Avery, Eugene Cordero, John Getz and Stephen McKinley Henderson. The comedy is based on the Academy Award-nominated 2020 documentary The Mole Agent and revolves around a retired professor who gets a new lease on life when a private investigator hires him to go undercover inside a San Francisco retirement home.

The 4-parter, which focuses on the events when Rose was handed a lifetime ban from the sport of baseball after an investigation revealed that he had bet on games during his tenure as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds, will air on HBO and will also be available to stream on Max.
David Schwartz Wins Emmy Award for ‘Lucy and Desi’ Score
David Schwartz has won his first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for his score for the Amazon documentary Lucy and Desi at today’s first night of the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. He has previously been Emmy-nominated three times for his Arrested Development score and his main title theme music from Deadwood: The Movie and Wolf Lake. The composer’s music from Lucy and Desi has been released this past July by Amazon Content Services.
‘Lucy and Desi’ Soundtrack Album Released
Amazon Content Services has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Lucy and Desi. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Schwartz (Arrested Development, The Good Place, Northern Exposure, Veep, Standing Up, Falling Down, Lady Dynamite) who has recently received his fourth Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his work on the project. BMI: Score to Screen Panels at Sundance Film Festival Announced
BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) has announced its programming for the 2022 Sundance Film Festival today with two virtual Score to Screen panels featuring two conversations that will give an inside look at the creative process of incorporating music in film while delving into the relationship between a composer and the film’s director or producer. Grammy and Academy Award winner Common and composer Patrick Warren (The Chi) co-produced and curated the music for the drama/thriller Alice written and directed by Krystin Ver Linden and starring Keke Palmer, Common himself, Jonny Lee Miller & Gaius Charles about a brave young woman who escapes a life of slavery on a secluded Georgia plantation, only to realize that not everything is as it seems.
