‘Arrested Development’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the critically acclaimed comedy Arrested Development. The album features selections from the original score and songs from all four seasons of the show composed by David Schwartz (Deadwood, Northern Exposure). Also included is the song Boomerang performed by Lucy Schwartz, which was featured in the season finale of the fourth season. The soundtrack will be released on November 19, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Arrested Development is created by Mitchell Hurwitz, produced and narrated Ron Howard and stars Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor and Jessica Walter. The fourth season premiered this summer on Netflix.

Premiering tonight is the HBO original movie Behind the Candelabra directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Dan Aykroyd, Rob Lowe, Scott Bakula and Debbie Reynolds. Late composer Marvin Hamlisch (The Sting, The Way We Were) served as the executive music producer on the project. Elektra Records has released a soundtrack album featuring music adapted by Hamlisch, as well as several pieces by pianist Liberace, played in the film by Douglas. Fall 2011 Television Music Roundup (Part 4): NBC
In our fourth part of our fall television music series, we are taking a look at the new and returning shows on NBC:
Among the new shows on the network that premiered this fall is the fantasy crime drama Grimm created by David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf and starring Russell Hornsby, David Giuntoli, Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee. The show’s score is written by Richard Marvin (U-571, Surrogates, Six Feet Under). The drama centers on a homicide detective who learns that he is a descendent of a group known as “Grimms” who fight to keep humanity safe from the supernatural creatures of the world. Grimm currently airs every Friday night on NBC and is expected to receive a full season order in the near future.

Airing every Tuesday night on the network is the drama Combat Hospital. The show centers on a group of doctors and nurses from Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and other allied countries saving lives and limbs in a war zone military hospital modeled on a real facility in Afghanistan. Deborah Kara Unger, Michelle Borth, Elias Koteas, Terry Chen, Arnold Pinnock and Luke Mably are starring. The show’s music is composed by Edmund Butt (The Dark, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes) and additional music is written by Samuel Sim (The Deep).
David Schwartz to Score NBC’s ‘The Playboy Club’
David Schwartz has signed on to score the NBC drama The Playboy Club. The show is set against the background of the political and moral changes in the 1960s and follows the legendary Playboy Club in Chicago. Eddie Cibrian stars as a Chicago attorney who is also a keyholder at the glamorous club. The series is created by Chad Hodge (Tru Calling, Runaway) and Amber Heard, Leah Renee, Jenna Dewan, Laura Benanti, David Krumholtz, Naturi Naughton and Wes Ramsey are co-starring. Alan Taylor (The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Sopranos) has directed the pilot. Brian Grazer is among the show’s producers through his Imagine Television company (24, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood).
