David Schwartz (Arrested Development, Northern Exposure, Lady Dynamite, Veep, Standing Up, Falling Down) is co-scoring the new Peacock original series Rutherford Falls. The show is created by Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation, Master of None), Ed Helms & Sierra Teller Ornelas and stars Helms himself, Jana Schmieding, Michael Greyeyes, Jesse Leigh and Dustin Milligan. The comedy revolves around two lifelong best friends who find themselves at a crossroads – quite literally – when their sleepy town gets an unexpected wakeup call.

Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the adventure drama The Call of the Wild directed by Chris Sanders and starring Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Omar Sy, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford and Colin Woodel. The film’s original music is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet). Hollywood Records/Fox Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the supernatural horror movie Brahms: The Boy II directed by William Brent Bell and starring Katie Holmes, Owain Yeoman, Christopher Convery and Ralph Ineson. Brett Detar (The Devil Inside, Wer) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s next Friday, February 28. Fox’s ‘Almost Family’ to Feature Music by David Schwartz
David Schwartz (Arrested Development, Northern Exposure, Veep, Lady Dynamite) is the composer of the new Fox drama Almost Family. The show is developed by Annie Weisman based on the original Endemol Shine Australia series from Jonathan Gavin & Imogen Banks and stars Brittany Snow, Timothy Hutton, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Emily Osment, Mustafa Elzein, Mo McRae and Victoria Cartagena. The series revolves around an only child who finds her life turned upside down when her father is forced to reveal that over the course of his pioneering career as a fertility doctor, he used his own sperm to conceive dozens of children.
David Schwartz Tapped as New Composer of HBO’s ‘Veep’
David Schwartz (Arrested Development, The Good Place, Northern Exposure) is the new composer of the HBO original series Veep. He is scoring the seventh and final season of the political comedy created by Armando Iannucci and starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole, Timothy Simons and Sam Richardson. David Mandel (Curb Your Enthusiasm, EuroTrip) serves as the showrunner of the new season and is executive producing the project with Frank Rich (Succession), Louis-Dreyfus, Lew Morton and Morgan Sackett (Parks and Recreation).
David Schwartz Scoring Matt Ratner’s ‘We Are Unsatisfied’
David Schwartz has recently composed the original score for the upcoming comedy We Are Unsatisfied. The film marks the feature directorial debut of producer Matt Ratner (Manson Family Vacation, Band of Robbers) and stars Billy Crystal, Ben Schwartz, Grace Gummer, Kevin Dunn, Debra Monk, Jill Hennessy, Eloise Mumford, John Behlmann and Caitlin McGee. The movie focuses on the friendship between a struggling L.A. comedian who is forced to move back home to Long Island and finds an unlikely kindred spirit in his alcoholic dermatologist.

David Schwartz has been hired to score the upcoming NBC comedy The Good Place. The show is created by Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and stars Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, Jameela Jamil, William Jackson Harper, Manny Jacinto and D’Arcy Carden. The series follows a young woman from New Jersey who comes to realize that she hasn’t been a very good person and decides to turn over a new leaf by learning what it actually means to be “good” or “bad”. Schur is also executive producing the NBC Universal Television production with David Miner (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).

Sarah Silverman, Jenny Slate, Mira Sorvino, Patton Oswalt, Jon Cryer, Brandon Routh, June Diane Raphael, Adam Pally and Tig Notaro have been announced as guest stars. The comedy is inspired by multiple periods of Bamford’s life and tell the story of a woman who loses – and then finds – herself. Hurwitz & Bamford are also executive producing the project with Pam Brady (South Park, Neighbors from Hell).
