David Arnold and Michael Price have been hired to score the upcoming British comedy sequel The Inbetweeners 2. The film is written and directed by Iain Morris & Damon Beesley and stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison. The movie follows the four friends Jay, Neil, Simon and Will as they visit Australia. Spencer Millman (The Mighty Boosh) is producing the Bwark, Zodiak Media and Film4 production. Arnold and Price have previously provided additional music for the first movie based on the hit TV series of the same title, which was released in 2011 and turned into the highest grossing British comedy of all time at the local box office.

Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the thriller The Words written and directed by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal and stars Bradley Cooper, Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Irons, Dennis Quaid, Ben Barnes, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons and Nora Arnezeder. The film’s music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Good Shepherd, The Door in the Floor). Also opening wide is the action thriller The Cold Light of Day directed by Mabrouk El Mechri and starring Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver. Spanish composer Lucas Vidal (The Raven) who has just been nominated in the Discovery of the Year category for the World Soundtrack Awards this week has composed the film’s score. David Schwartz to Score NBC’s ‘The Playboy Club’
David Schwartz has signed on to score the NBC drama The Playboy Club. The show is set against the background of the political and moral changes in the 1960s and follows the legendary Playboy Club in Chicago. Eddie Cibrian stars as a Chicago attorney who is also a keyholder at the glamorous club. The series is created by Chad Hodge (Tru Calling, Runaway) and Amber Heard, Leah Renee, Jenna Dewan, Laura Benanti, David Krumholtz, Naturi Naughton and Wes Ramsey are co-starring. Alan Taylor (The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Sopranos) has directed the pilot. Brian Grazer is among the show’s producers through his Imagine Television company (24, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood).
